Following potential 2012 draftees

I have cooled a little on MKG mainly because of his lack of shooting. Everyone has to remember that he will have games where he under produces due to playing with a ton of talent. His effort is there but he has to develop his jump shooting to be taken over Miller.

I still would be excited if the Jazz got him especially if they can get a shooter with their other pick. The guy I love is Davis. Yes I know the Jazz are going to have to miss the playoffs and then have the basketball Gods smile on them. However a rotation of Favors, Kanter and Davis would dominate the NBA. LOL.

I just don't see how someone who can be ignored until he crosses the FT line can have "it" as a SF (unless their defense is truly amazing, I don't see that from MKG, I see opponents scared to drive it into the pit of doom that is Anthony Davis's paint).

His 3pt % along with his FG % continue to drop each week as teams are figuring out "Hey, we don't have to guard this guy at all". I like his rebounding a lot, and his defensive play, but those don't outweigh his flaws.

His ceiling is Shawn Marion. I doubt he will ever be able to reach that ceiling unless he is put in the right system (Mike Dantoni era Suns style).

I am not saying I would take mkg with out getting some shooters on the jazz but the it is found in players that are first to practice and last to leave who are willing to learn to get better. I see that in mkg. Sure he has a lot to learn now but in a professional setting I think he will get better but one thing you can't teach is heart and mkg has it.

I agree. I know that there is a lot of talk around here about potential but he oozes with it to me. Another thing that I really like is that from the games that I have watched he does not rely on his athleticism to create his shot. He really uses his length the right way, ala Kevin Durant. (I am not saying that Miller is Durant or has that potential, just that they are similar and Durant uses his length to overcome defenders)

I like MKG as a player, just not for us. We need shooters and that's the opposite of what he is. It's too bad, because he really is a good player. I'd still take Luol Deng over him though.


/Just wanted to rub a Duke player in PKM's face.
