Favors and especially Kanter are not ready to play 35 mins per night. Shame on KOC for not giving the keys to the franchise to these 2 right off the bat. As these 2 transition into legit starters, you will see Sap and Jefferson dealt at some point. If KOC acted like the OP is talking about, we'd be throwing 20 year old kids into the starting lineup year after year without ever improving. It's no accident that the league is littered with examples of teams who have struggled with just that type of problem year after year.
This is a process and processes take time. Props to the Jazz fans who can see that. For the ones who can't, oh well. I see plenty of evidence that KOC knows what he's doing.

Yes... rationally and with a basic knowledge of the game and the business of NBA basketball.
If you took the top three least desireable places for NBA players to play, SLC would be there. Due to this, KOC doesn't have an easy job - yet he drafts well (especially the past few years) and signs who he can - it's not like Miller is giving him much to work with. KOC has set us up to be a very good team in the coming years - the dude isn't perfect, but he's better than a lot of the other GMs who have more to work with.

IMO, It's a miracle that the Utah Jazz are not the Kansas City Royals of the NBA. They have no business being as relevant as they've been in an era that has almost spanned 3 decades. But hey, let's fire the GM that's kept them relevant during the past decade or so. I'm sure we can hire a replacement that will have superstars immediately flocking to SLC.

He TRIED. Go back and read the f*&^ articles in the DNews or Trib archives. NO ONE was willing to give up anything but bad contracts for Boozer. I guess Rip would have brought us a title, right? If you recall, Booz pimped himself out to a lot of teams before his contract expired. I'm sure KOC would have accepted any reasonable deal. In fact, had KOC complained, Boozer and his agent would have needed to cease and desist since player or agent contact with another team's GM or owner before that player is a FA (without permission) is TAMPERING. But KOC let Carlos go to Chicago, Miami, NY, etc. to gauge their interest. And there was NONE!
I can't believe how dense some people become when they have blind hatred for someone. It takes TWO to make a trade. I mean, we need a PG and a wing. This GM stuff is SO EASY! All KOC has to do is send Harris and a 2nd rounder to Boston for Rondo. OK, if they insist, send them a protected 1st. Then use the Memo trade exception to snag a starting SF or SG. If the other team insists, throw in CJ or Bell. Git 'er done, Kevin!

No you clowns. We arent saying they should have traded Boozer with one year left on his contract, and when the jig was up. We are saying he should have been traded right after the San Antonio series. When it became clear he wasnt a baller(to us). I could see it then. Along with Memo too. It was obvious those two werent going to help Deron win one. The rest of the league thought he was some great power forward. I remember being angry he made the All star team and Deron didnt. I knew he was a sham back then. We should have cashed in on Memo right after he made the all star team. But instead we rode it out with those two until the whole league figured out they were chokers. And all their value had gone out the window.
Thats where Kevin O Connor screwed up.
I was saying we should have traded Boozer and Memo for Garnett before Boston did. The salaries matched up, and it would have worked. And Im sure they would have done it too. Compared to what they got for him. And there were other options back then too. But O connor was content with what we had. And foolishly believed that we had a legit chance. Thats why I dont trust him.
