What's new

Jazz @ Kings 3/22/12 8PM MT Game Thread

And Al got 26 points in 35 minutes. Some of you guys should learn to appreciate that our bigs have different skill-sets. Favors is a fantastic player, but offensively he has got tons to learn and Big Al was very, very good tonight. Having Al, Millsap, Favors and Kanter together is a blessing for this team, not a curse. They all learn from each other and a trip to the play offs this year will do wonders for everyone - including us fans.
Agree. Favors got into foul trouble and Kanter was ineffective. I'm not so sure about trying to trade Big AL (or Millsap) until at least the deadline next season.

I'm not a fan of this win folks....

For one, it's a one point win against the Kings. Why do we play DOWN to the level of our competition? I get it, we can't play with the same intensity that we had against the Heat and Lakers every single night. But come on, there were times when we just weren't executing or focusing.

Sac was 13-9 at home. A winning record.

Secondly, Favors only got 21 minutes... He was down right dominate defensively. Despite playing fewer minutes than Jefferson, he did register more rebounds and blocks.
Same amount of blocks, actually. Not too concerned about rotations tonight. I agree that situational substitutions would have been nice, but it doesn't matter that much at .9

Thirdly, CJ has reverted back to his jumpshooting (not attacking the basket) ways. Sigh...

Still only took 8 shots, so the chucking wasn't negative. Only one or two of those shots were bad shots with time left on the shot clock.

Lastly, Big Al and Paul didn't get to the FT line. Ummmm.... You do this against 90 % of the league, you lose.

So yay, it will register as a W. But tonight wasn't winning basketball IMO.... Too many jumpers, sloppy defense, no Favors when it counted, terrible offensive execution in the 4th, and bigs weren't rebounding or getting to the FT line...

Sacramento played zone almost exclusively in the fourth. Jazz had open looks because the Kings packed the paint. Jazz had three straight open three by three different players. Gotta make at minimum one and should make two.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

another day, another w.

btw Devin-Derrick are developing some good chemistry together. The alley oops are beeeeeeeeautiful.
beast recognizes beast.

offense doesnt mean ****.

DEFENSE wins championships

Holy ****, you whiney bitches.. We are not the Heat, we are a .500 ball club. A 1 point win on the road againt anyone is fricking awesome at this time. You guys are pathetic with your "I want more than a win" attitude. Truly.

Huge difference between getting a win and playing winning basketball.

Jazz fans have been down this road before. We've seen for a long time this kind of stuff. We've seen the 6-8 seeds.

We don't want that. We're tired of that.

To me, getting some wins before this boring season is over is cool. But i'd rather have some lotto picks to stack up for a championship run than see us getting our butts booted out of the playoffs quickly.

Ok, on Hayward's defense....what kind of a moron takes a contested 3 with a hand in his face in clutch time and when they're down by 2 with plenty of time in the game? Hayward was playing him safe so he wouldn't get a layup.

No, Hayward's hand was down. It's Marcus Thorton. That is what he does (and is really good at it). He is an explosive scorer and if you give him an open look, he takes it every time. In that situation the last thing we wanted to give up was a 3.

I like this unsatisfied attitude in our players. Also, I always liked Jason Thompson. He's been in development since day one but he's got things you can't teach.

Hey, I don't care if the Jazz win by 1 or by 50, a win is a win. Especially when in comes in Sacramento, where the Jazz have already lost once this year and where Utah historically struggles to get wins. I'll gladly take this win with open arms. What a huge play by Big Al at the end! With a win over Denver tomorrow night we will now actually move into the 7th spot, not the 8th spot as Alema Harrington so erroneously says. Houston, Denver, and Utah would all have the same record at 26-22. However, Utah would be in 7th place with a win tomorrow night because we would win the season series with Denver (2-1) and we would have a better conference record than Houston (17-17 to 16-17, with the season series currently tied at 1 game a piece).
