Who will shoot?

Next fall will the Jazz have someone step up and become our outside presence, will we bring in a shooter, or will we hold with what we currently have?

Personally I think a couple of current guys will try. I am not confident any of them will become a serious, consistent threat.

Hayward and Harris have shown they can get it done to an extent. We at least need a 3rd person to step up and be a threat.

spurs have demonstrated that every player must contribute on both ends of the floor...
OKC learned that lesson for game 3 and therefore have made a series of it.
Everybody under 7 - 1 must learn to shoot the ball, and be encouraged to do it. Everybody.

This article explains how Spurs turned Kawhi Leonard into a respectable shooter. Wish Jazz could teach Hayward and Burks...

Hayward has skills that are valuable to the team, however, he will never become anything close to being a consistent outside threat for us...

Hopefully 2 of these guys:

Jason Terry, Ray Allen, Steve Novak, Randy Foye, Illysova, Steve Nash, Kirk Hinrich, CJ Watson, Kyle Korver, Daniel Gibson, Mo Williams, Brandon Rush, Courtney Lee, Ryan Anderson, Batum, Vince Carter, George Hill, OJ Mayo, Jodie Meeks, Rudy Fernandez, Carlos Delfino, Bill Walker, Eric Gordon,Gerald Green

Or someone else via trade/draft.

Shooters haven't been this available for KOC in years past so he needs to take advantage

Didn't know where this would fit but just thought I'd share the tweet of the week by DeMarcus Cousins:

@boogiecousins: congrats to my homie @jimmerfredette and his big day ...also his big night!! Haha

The smart move would have been to let Carroll go, sign a vet guy on a one year deal who can shoot, then bring in the best 5 shooters from the UDFA and foreign crowds and sign two of them: Hayward/Burks/Vet Guy Who Can Shoot/training camp tourney winners (remember, this is how the Spurs got Neal and we got Wes.)

As a side question: Did we really guarantee Carroll? In the exits, KOC was noncommittal on Carroll. I still don't believe he was guaranteed. I just can't.

I can't believe you're so hung up about a guy that played well above his nearly invisible salary, and by all accounts has been a terrific locker room guy. I just don't get it. What are you so opposed to, scared of, or whatever it is? I'm especially confused since you're usually so hard for scrubs.

Fully agreed. I've been saying this for four years now.

Your organization has to commit to shooting, and that's not just finding bombers, it's about knowing when to shoot them and putting your players in a position to succeed. This organization has not done that but I hope that for all of the rampant Spurs worship that the org will figure it out eventually.

Has KOC ever been committal in anything he says to the media regarding free agency or the draft?

Considering Carroll was KOC's guy that he wanted for a while, I highly doubt he doesn't come back.

I feel like Burks will be a better shooter than everyone expects.
