Tyreke Evans

Evans is a loser. He isn't a winner. His style of play has not been conductive to winning games so his stats don't ****ing matter.

I disagree. I feel like the kings' organization is currently a flop. I don't think its fair to judge tyreke based on the success of that organization.

I agree with nbanerd. Tyreke Evans skill set and size is very intriguing.

Evans is the player who has contributed to that the most. Yes, his skill set is intriguing, but I can't think of a worse back-court pairing than Rose/Evans. This trade is not for Evans, it's for the 5th pick. They will give Evans a go, but I bet they look to trade him if anything good comes up.

The most?? Idk about that. They have lots of chuckers and they are constantly taking horrible shots. Even Cousins shot selection is pretty awful most of the time. The whole team seems to have a pretty selfish mentality. You have a guy like Cousins throwing fits mid-season and demanding a trade? I think that kind of player contributes the most to the issues on the team.

Reke plays pretty good defense as well. I'm disregarding the whole Chicago trade because I agree with the point your making that he is no good with Rose. That is true. They are both dominate ball handlers, and need the rock in their hands at all times. But, I think if you found the right system for Tyreke he will contribute to the success.

It's normal to blame the best player on a losing team. Doesn't mean that Tyreke is a loser.

Evans has the game of Lebron James, in a 6'5 body. The only difference is that he has never improved, has never improved his shooting, doesn't care about winning, and has actually gotten worse since his rookie year.

it's easy to say evans is a loser because he's on a losing team with no real direction. lots of guys have looked like losers three years in and then later flourished when they got in the right situation. i just think it's ridiculous to say they would give up joakim noah for, say, harrison barnes and that they don't really care about tyreke. you're painfully out of touch if you think he doesn't have star potential.

No, he doesn't have star potential. He might have had it a couple of years ago, but he doesn't anymore. He is basically the 2nd coming of Steven Francis in terms of career path.

Actually that's probably not fair to Francis. He actually had some good seasons on winning teams. But I expect Evans to get progressively worse and be out of the league by age 30.

Expect our starting center was the best player on a playoff team, albeit not a very good one, but a playoff team nonetheless. Evans has never come close to doing that. Try again.

My point is merely that, as Bentley here once so eloquently opined, "Al Jefferson is the low-post version of TMac". I put Tyreke in the same bucket as those guys.

Yeah because bad attitude players who don't improve and can't shoot stay in the league forever.

10+ years is not uncommon. I'm not saying he should be on the Olympic team, but the guy is a serviceable player and should have no problem staying in the league.

Memphis might be changing its tune on Rudy Gay now that it has been sold. Rudy Gay and #25 pick for Evans and the #5. Memphis could draft Barnes or Kidd-Gilchrist at 5 and have the money to re-sign OJ Mayo. Memphis would have a deep and really good team: Conley, Evans, Allen, Randolph, Gasol with Mayo and Barnes/Gilchrist off the bench. Watch out OKC.

If SAC is offering up the #5 to entice teams to take Tyreke (while that's probably a red flag right there), I'd do Millsap +GS pick for that.

Agree 100% about Tyreke. He's still only 22 and has spent 3 years playing for a completely dysfunctional franchise. Is he going to bring you the intangibles of a Steve Nash? Of course not, but he's big, physical, and is a player who can break down the defense and get to the FT line. My big question is can permeantly slide over to SG and fit into some type of system where he's not going to have a usage rate in the mid-20's? Maybe he can, maybe he can't - but it's ridiculous to put a final verdict on a player of his ability at age 22 and only 3 seasons in the league.

Wow CT, did Evans cost you some money at some time? Your dislike isnt close to legit based on what he has done since he came into the league.
I sort of agree that him and Rose might not be a great back court, but damn, Id take it for the Jazz at this time.

Evans is a very intriguing player but it would take too much to get him. Terrence Williams is the Sactown player who I'm more interested in based on our need at the 3, his ability to be a great defender, his athleticism, his well-rounded play (defense, passing, rebounding), his cheap price tag, and how he played at the end of the year. He can't hit the 3 all that well which would only compound our current problem from afar, but at the right price, he could be a steal. Maybe we should just re-sign Carroll. But Williams could be an interesting option as well.
