Utah never gets any respect for the athletes we have in high school. they are two of the best. i dont think theres a better basketball player in the country than emery and porter is going to be a hall of famer in the majors. emery is gonna kill jimmers records at byu just watch.

So, Emery, a 6'1 SG ranked 73rd in the nation (not bad at all, btw) is actually on par with Nerlens Noel, Shabazz Muhammed, Alex Poythress, etc ... because he schools in Utah?

73rd overall or 73rd SG?

He's not on par, moran, he's better. Reading is fun and mental.

yah and paul millsap was probably unrated in high school by those dumb ranking services. if emery were from ny, la or chicago he would be ranked a lot higher or if he was signed to a bigger school. thats what my dad told me and hes right i think.

youve never seen emery play so i dont know if you know what your talking about.

Wow, I guess Freak is right, I am a moran.

Saltair is definitely a duplicate, not sure why some are actually putting in time to respond to him.

I believe the politically correct term is 'twin.'

@Saltair - I have heard of Nick Emery, so that pretty much makes me an expert on the guy. He sucks.

Cause his dad will beat us up if we don't.

its not like that. and i am honored to be called a duplicate of him because i look up to him and he is my role model. i never said i'd beat anyone up but i did tell that one poster who told me he hoped my dad died that he said i could give him our address so we could figure that out in person.

Just curious on the subject because I'm not from Utah. But, how many NBA players currently played their high school basketball in Utah....

Ohhh.. None? Hmm. Guys like Jackson Vroman and Lance Allred were the latest. Lance played 3 games. Jackson I know from Iowa State because I am from Iowa. He also didn't last.

So yes Utah doesn't get the respect, it doesn't deserve.

He's not a shooting guard, nor is he in this year's class. And he's been tearing up AAU basketball and breaking tournament scoring records, so anybody that talks him up is doing so for good reason. The kid puts 30 on everybody.

As far as Utahan's in the NBA though, we've got work to do. C.J. Wilcox at Washington looks like he'll probably be next. He's solid. Brandon Davies has an outside chance. Tyler Haws potentially in a few years. Think that's about it for the Utah bred boys for a couple years unless some of these other guys that are in college and from Utah develop significantly.
