I want someone to show me why he is so great, other than the kid has great heart. Great heart doesn't win you titles if you can't shoot. Great heart isn't worth a top 5 pick.
I've said he will be top 5 overall from this class in 10 years. Maybe I'll be wrong.....we'll see.
Not arguing, just asking .. how many games did you watch him play last year? How many scouting reports have you read? Show me one, just one, that says he'll be great because of heart, alone. There isn't a single one. Therefore, your statements are either hyperbolic, poorly thought out, agenda-laden, or all the above. Maybe you're right, but your basis for your argument is beyong flawed, it lacks all credibility.

I will give them he has all the right mental stuff, great rebounder and finisher. However, he can't shoot and I think his defense is overrated with Davis protecting the paint.Then again we would have Favors so maybe thats a wash. He does have the drive to fix his shot though, got to acknowledge that

His scouting reports list smarts, defense, rebounding...all nice skills, but not for a top 5 pick. I LOVE MKG aroun 8-12. Top 5? Those are guys that should lead you to a conference finals. He isn't going to do that. He isn't going to average 20 a night and have one other elite skill.

Again, he will be a very solid player and a great pick closer to ten. If any GM takes him top 5, he will be signing the pink slip on his job.
p.s. read his scouting reports...he sounds like a white guy.

He actually IS Ronnie Brewer. He's an undercover cop, like on 21 Jump Street and went back to school to break up Kentucky's xstacy ring. Mission accomplished, so back to the NBA for him.......and sadly enough Richard Grieco ("Coach Calipari") back to the unemployment line.

I think of MKG as a cross between a younger Shawn Marion and a stronger more athletic AK. I'll take that every damn day of the week!
I wouldn't compare him to AK at all. Not near the shot blocker AK was and doesn't have the amount of creative floor vision AK had (which were what made AK who he was). Just do the Shawn Marion/Gerald Wallace comps.

That's why I added Marion. I think MKG has the motor and drive of the AK before he got paid, and Marions slashing and finishing ability. Wallace has a better shot then both AK and Marion. I don't think Wallace is as good a comparison to MKG.
Humor me once more. Who are the 5 '20 a night' guys?
MKG will be pretty disappointing if he isn't paired with a good PG or an uptempo offense. I think all the teams looking to draft him though fit those two categories though. I think his worst case scenario would be the Kings, who are probably going to play slower because of Cousins.
Wizards may also be shaky because their perimeter shooting is awful, even before you add MKG. They do run uptempo though.
Cleveland would be perfect with Irving.
