With the 47th Pick, Kevin Murphy

If he can become a 3 point specialist that can play some defense I like it. Know nothing about him though, but with a second round pick it's hard to care too much.

Defensively, Murphy does an excellent job playing within Tennessee Tech's team concept in both man-to-man and zone situations. He is not a lock down defender, but makes an effort to contest shots and does his best work knowing exactly where his help is on the floor in one-on-one situations. Though he could certainly stand to be more physical on this end of the floor, especially when defending the pick and roll, and will have to show that he can guard bigger, more athletic wings than he normally faces in the OVC during the draft process, Murphy has some tools to work with and seems to know his role defensively.

Better review defensively than most small school scorers get.

Don't like Carroll starting and I think Devin is gone. You forgot Mo Williams

I thought we were going to get a draft pick as part of that Mo Williams deal.

Without the pick - we're just gonna get Williams on a 1 year rental? What's the point of that?

We already have Harris for 1 more year, Watson & Tinsley who wasn't that bad. Just don't see Williams as a huge upgrade.

There has been nothing said about getting picks, just us hoping.

1 year rental most likely. If the Jazz like him he can be re-signed. The point is that we add talent to the team and make the team a hell of a lot better than we were before the trade.

These are the line ups I see for the Jazz next year:

Harris
Hayward
Carroll
Millsap
Favors

Off the bench:

Watson
Burks
Murphy
Evans
Kanter

Thoughts?
Where's Al?

He's still an asset. He or Harris could fetch us something at the trade deadline next year at the very least.

But we do lose that trade exception plus the Millers have to pay $8.5m more for a back up PG. Also with both Harris & Williams fighting for the starting spot - that ain't a happy family IMO.

There must be another angle we're not aware of........

You lose it if you don't use it. The Jazz see this as the best opportunity to use it.

Who the **** cares what Greggy boy has to pay? If he is willing to do it, I couldn't give a **** about how much $$$ he has to shell out. It's not like acquiring Maurice will change our FA flexibility in 2013.

Well we don't - but he still have to sign off on the deal. Knowing how much of a tight a** they are I'm surprised he'd be willing to pay $8.5m extra on a back up PG.

Yeah, but it drastically changes our flexibility in 2012. Getting Mo for the TPE without some kind of pick coming back, while simultaneously helping both Dallas and LA, is just foolish.
