CJ Miles Close to Signing With Lakers

I don't know if CJ has an alcohol problem or not, but the assumption that the Lakers' vets are going to let him go out and party to their/his detriment is stupid, especially with Steve and Antwan Jamison there now too.

I think it's going to be great for him personally and the Lakers. He's better than most(if not all) of the options they've gone to in Artest's absence over the past few years. Sure beats the Cleveland situation he was rumored to be close to taking on.

Where is the evidence, or even speculation, that CJ is a partier?

Good for CJ. Role players always do much better with stars. He will probably have some big games this year.

Agreed. I think he will do great there. Have a few big games even. The guy has the talent, just never got it going here.

Please, CJ.

Sign with the Lakers.

I figure he could be responsible for at least three Lakers losses.

Link? and/or where do you hear stuff like that? I want in.

Thought it was common knowledge.

Do you think the Utah media would ever print something like that? Hell, they probably never printed anything about Jim McMahon and his partying. But it was common knowledge at least here in Utah County what he was doing. Same thing w/Harvey Unga. The dude had two kids with two different women by the time BYU finally expelled him. Brandon Davies? Same thing. Yet, it seems like many of you didn't know that.

CJ Miles was one of the biggest partiers along w/Fess that this franchise has seen in a long time. Remember how CJ missed a few games a year or so ago due to "stomach elements?" Umm yeah. I think the closest thing to the media actually reporting it was the Red and Blue show reporting how they saw CJ at a club the previous night. I'm not a huge partier but I do have friends. CJ Miles was bigtime in the club scene folks. There's a reason why he has 'stomach' problems and there's a reason why he's never really improved.

Guys that are committed, put the party stuff behind them, and put basketball as #1 typically improve. The ceiling might be lower or higher, depending on the talent level. But the improvement is definitely apparent.

Just look at the difference between Boozer and Millsap. Boozer has about as much love for the game as Ostertag. Millsap meanwhile, is one dedicated hardworker who is constantly adding new skills to his game.

He might end up being a good role player for the Lakers. I actually wish him the best. The vets might have a great influence on him.

However, I doubt it. The kid is immature and loves to party. LA will be fun but I'm not sure he'll flourish as a Basketball player there.

So in other words, you got nothing.

Seriously?

CJ was notorious for being one of the biggest drunks in all of SLC's clubs.

Put him in LA? With Andrew Bynum?

And that's one lethal combination.

Girls, clubs, beaches...

CJ's career as a basketball player is good as over.

Especially once he discovers how limited his role is on that team. I doubt Kobe will even let him touch the water bottle let alone the basketball.

Do you change your text size on purpose?

I saw Millsap and D Williams at Lumpy's downtown, as well as other bars/clubs, multiple times, on game nights while that team was together. Not sure why those guys excelled so much. They must have been playing through some wicker hangovers. The only time I saw CJ was ONCE at Lumpy's and I don't think he was even 21 yet. But it was after a big win and on an off night, so who cares. On the real, I DID consistently see CJ on xBox live really late on game nights.

Who cares whether or not he was a party animal, he was a garbage NBA player and I feel sorry for any franchise that picks him up.

Unless they're the Lakers.

This is a great signing. Here's hoping that it's for ten years and that CJ can pull of his streak of diminishing percentages in every shooting category each and every year.

There's nothing wrong with going to clubs and having fun. Deron went clubbing pretty often actually. He, Brewer, and Millsap were his friends. I too saw them.

The problem lies with frequency and how much it impacts your job performance. Missing games because you're hungover and not improving because you're just not committed is inexcusable.

I actually thought CJ Miles had one of the best rap flows in the NBA (which isn't saying much), LA is a great spot for him to start his rap career, cuz his bball career aint ****.
