Decline in coal is due to the Obama administrations twin coordinated plan of attack making it (1)Incredibly difficult to get coal out of the ground, and (2)Incredibly expensive for a utility to burn coal at a plant to generate electricity. Price of natural gas has zero to do with the coal industries present struggles. Despite the low price of gas, in pre-Obama conditions it was still FAR cheaper to buy and burn coal to generate electricity.

1) Has the cost to extract coal gone up during Obama's administration?
2) Has the cost to burn coal gone up since Obama's administration?
3) Do you realize that pre-Obama, the cost to use coal was less than even today's cost of nat gas?
