Jazzfanz ALL-TIME Fantasy Draft

Could Davis play SF in the NBA? Probably a little.

Could Davis play SF in a tournament against the top 20 SF's of all time (without any NBA experience coming off of 1 year in college)? No way.

If his man leaves to double someone else, he'll just slash to the rim and take a lob.

You understand that if his man leaves him, he's already closer to the rim, and thereby would already be there, along with the defending 4 and 5, to block his shot. He's an athletic rookie, not Lebron Chamberlain.

You mean other than Lebron?

KG is primarily guarding Lebron, but Davis would make life difficult for him too, given that he's got enough length to back up a step and still contest jumpers. Even Lebron isn't going over Davis, at least not with a high-percentage play.

Davis is not a SF.. Certain matchups, sure .. But he's a PF. He does have good range and he can handle the ball well .. But neither well enough (at least yet) to be a consistent SF.

Why not take a prime SJax, Bowen, Crash Wallace, or someone of that nature?

This is the 10th man we're talking about here. I want an energy guy to block shots, hurry shooters, run out and follow shots. That's it. Getting someone who's quick enough to check SFs let's me keep KG or Amare on the floor. If I wanted an all-around SF, I would have taken Manning. I'm not a big Gay guy.

I wanted someone with more length than the guys you mentioned, although Wallace might otherwise be a good option.

I've been meaning to bring this up earlier but wasn't sure if it was merited then. But it is now.

Can we please be somewhat realistic in projecting these players' positions? Has Kevin Garnett ever really played as a SF? Did Davis at his one year at Kentucky or on the Olympic team? Can the PGs be something resembling a PG and not just a ball-dominant wing? Please? This is really quite silly.

So if he's your 10th guy, why is he starting? And if he's not, and your sig is your rotation, well then, I still stand by my general sentiment. Garnett at the 3 is silly. And you still have horrible shooting. Stojakovic may have made some sense. But overall, drafting Penny where you did was just dumb as hell bro.

'Cause Penny Hardaway and a guy who's never played in an NBA game are in your starting lineup. Must I go on?

Edit: Woops. I think that's Catchall's. Thought he had posted that...hold on...

Penny was the leading MVP candidate the first half of the season after Shaq left. He was unguardable by anyone, including Pippen. He's the biggest mismatch at PG next to Magic and Lebron.

Separately, KG is starting at SF where he'll dominate everyone on both ends. Davis gets spot minutes off the bench.

I thought you were being cynical about Hack's and my teams.

KG played both forward spots and could play both spots. Penny was a 100% PG all his years in Orlando. Davis is a back-up who can guard any front-court player. If it makes feel better, label Davis a PF and Kukoc an SF.

And R.A. Dickey may be leading the candidate for the Cy Young award so far. So what? To pick him above the guys you did is ludicrous.
