2012-2013 a wasted season

problem is this al basketball attendance seems down
with core4 their would be exitment

I beg the differ. If you were to go and look at other cities playing young guys - they're not doing so well attendance wise neither.

https://espn.go.com/nba/attendance

Looking at this list, right at the bottom you have: Kings, Hornets, Pistons, Bucks, Pacers, Hawks, Suns, Bobcats.

Prudent approach is - get attendance up - pay for Big Al - THEN - rebuild.

Which is what they've done. Well except the "rebuild" part, which I'm predicting will be next season.

Our young guys are developing. Still, I wish Corbin would play more Kanter and less Al. I don't think we lose much, if anything.

jazzfanz are different.
if jazz go 1-82 but play like carol every single game attendance would be better
than this alfensive alfense big al orientated "offense"

Jazz are currently 9th on that list.

It's pretty hard to imagine being able to do better than that while losing 75% of the games, albeit playing DeMarre every single games.

check the 2003-2004 season.
jazz fanz historcally have proven that they like hardbasketball, hustle plays, smart basketball, leaving everythin out there, wear your heart on your shoullders.
kanter favors millsap burks hayward. and especially demarre fit that bill.

whats funny is they advertise the core4 and they lose.
look at the crowd tell me how much jeffy jerseys you see compared to millsap, burks, favors, kanter, hayward.

We didn't make the playoffs, but we had a winning record of 42-40.

Not sure attendance would be that good if we were instead 20-62.

what if ty is prepping the team to dump the ball into kanter the way that al gets it now, and theyd rather use al as the proxy/scapegoat for the adjustment period than see kanters mistakes become magnified by the spotlight/minutes?

04-05 the year before we drafted deron.
not sure it is 04-05.
but definitely the year before deron

In the offseason they just signed Okur and Boozer - so the excitement was there. They definitely intended to win, but injuries plagued the team all season. Yes they had a losing record, but they definitely didn't play to lose (i.e., throw the keys to young guys).

exactly this team especially the starting unit is PLAYING TO LOSE.

the young guys are playing to win

But at least a line up of Okur, Boozer and Kirilenko had a chance at a winning record.

I don't think you can say Favors, Kanter, Hayward, Burks had a chance at a winning record.

LOL.. then please tell me why rational men such as KOC and Lindsey hadn't given away Millsap & Jefferson at the trade deadline if we could have just won with Favors & Kanter?

I am one who thinks it was a wasted season. If we don't make the playoffs, then why the hell was it necessary to sign and play mediocre veterans ahead of our young players? We could have as easily missed the playoffs giving Favors and Hayward 30+ regularly and Burks and Kanter 20+ regularly. Had we done that, we'd have a much better idea than we do now whether the C4 can really carry the team, and we would have been able to plan accordingly for next year. As it is, we still don't have an answer to this question, meanwhile, we have to decide whether to resign Jefferson and/or Milsap, plus Hayward and Burks are now soon coming off their rookie contract, and we need to know whether to commit the bigger money to them over the LT. What do we really know going forward to next year, other than Jefferson simply cannot be the key lynchpin for this franchise if we hope to make a deep playoff run? But I honestly doubt whether the Jazz FO and Corbin have even learned this glaringly obvious fact. Had we not wasted last year in the same way, then this might be a less bitter pill to swallow. But now we've wasted two years, and we STILL don't have answers. How can anyone say this season was a success with the Longer term view in mind? Hell, if we don't make the playoffs (which I now doubt we will), then this season wasn't even a success in the ST. The Jazz FO was afraid to take any kind of risk, always trying to hedge it bet, and in the end got bupkis in return. We are swiftly approaching, in my opinion, the worst case scenario for this season--no playoff, no answers, stunted growth, and disillusioned fan base. This whole season has been an anticlimactic disappointment.

We already knew this season was a waste early on. When we saw Corbin's rotations we saw the writing on the wall.

We should have turned this team over to the young guns along time ago. Doesn't mean they all have to start together, but
they should have been the focus. Maybe we'd know if one or more isn't worth going forward with already.
We already know the Sap Big Al Marvin show is pointless.
