Sloan wants to return to coaching according to Hoopshype and this tweet.

Gery Woelfel: I've been told Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan is seriously considering return to the sidelines. Twitter @GeryWoelfel

Now I think its time to thank Ty Corbin for covering Sloan during his "leave of absence".

Thanks Ty. Don't let the door hit you on your stupid *** on your way to the assistance coaching chair.

Sloan is better than Corbin, but do we really want to go back there?

Jerry has his faults too, and isn't getting any younger.

While Sloan might be old-school, he at least gets the maximum out of players.

Stars become near Superstars and crappy players become decent role players under Sloan.

If it means Corbin is gone, I have no problems with Sloan returning.

71 years, high stress job, lots of travel, long days and short nights.

Ya, know my grandpa had this dog for years and years. We all loved that dog. She liked to hunt, but as she got older g-pa kept her in the truck during hunting time, even though she wanted to be out. One day I took her with me to hunt pheasants. I walked about 5 miles, she was happy as pup running and jumping through the grass and brush. She was panting when we got back to the truck. She laid down when we got to g-pa's house and never got up again. Dog wanted back in the mix because she loved it, but neither she nor I realized she shouldn't have and she paid the ultimate price for it.

That's a sad story. Thanks for killing your grandpa's dog mellow.

You should probably mellow out.

Great thread. It's been known that Sloan has been looking for a job for the past year now.

Even though Ty's offense comes a lot from Jerry's offense, Jerry runs a better offense.
That's what they call devolution.

Cool story, but this is the Jazz forum. Save the other stuff for the general discussion board. We're talkin Jazz basketball here.

I've seen plenty of Jerry Sloan this year in the stands during games and he appears at times to be struggling to determine where he is exactly.

In and of itself, 71 is not too old. I've worked with people in their 70's before. But to step away from the game for 3 years and then come back at that age is a monumental task. I say no way.

Well, there is the fact that Corbin has had Al Jefferson as his best player compared to Sloan getting Stockton and Malone, then Boozer and Dwill.

I think there are reasons that Jerry has interviewed or expressed interest in 2-3 jobs and hasn't gotten one. Maybe its best if he stays in the truck.

None of the above. Agreed that Jerry is far, far superior to Ty as a coach, he's not the answer. Bring him into the front office as an advisor or assistant GM, but forget bringing him back as a coach.
