Which is gonna be better for NBA 2k14?

Either one. But if you plan on buying it as a used game or borrowing future NBA 2K games from friends, buy a PS4 because you'll have to pay a fee for used games on Xbox One.

Just finished watching the announcement and my opinion that PS4 is the better choice is definitely cemented. It's pretty apparent that Microsoft's goal with the Xbox One is multimedia as apposed to gaming and for some people, families, the Xbox One is right on the money. But for me, the fact that they spent the majority of the time talking about everything other than gaming, and showed only two Xbox One exclusives, I'm not sold. The PS4 is the clear choice for anyone who wants to buy a video game console FOR the video games. The PS4 will have much better and many more exclusives than the Xbox One, just like last-gen. The games that will sell the best on the "XO"(?) will be available on the PS4 as well.

I'm for sure gonna buy the PS4 and wont have any regrets like I did when I bought a 360.

Halo?

And what is wrong with always on, always connected? Your phone is always on, always connected..

I'm talking about the Call of Duties and the mainstream games. Those usually tend to sell well when a console doesn't have many exclusives.

Not everyone has the internet and not everyone has a strong connection. I don't think the strong connection will matter with the XO because if reports are right, you only need to connect once a day. But still, not everyone has the internet. I read an article that brought up a very good point, military members who are overseas often have consoles but many don't have internet connection. What are they suppose to do during downtime when they want to play a game but they can't because they have to connect to the internet when no internet connection is available?

Their reveal presentation yesterday was terribad. I have both a 360 and a PS3 but I hardly ever touch the 360. Bad UI, subscription based online play, no internal wireless card, generally feels kind of cheap. I loved the OXBOX. Just a huge step down in overall quality. Maybe they learned something from it but probably not.

Also this goes for both Sony and Microsoft: stop taking away backwards compatibility, you ding dongs. I'm just gonna hold on to my old systems instead of repurchasing digital games.

I think the Wii U will sell the most units, but will be the least successful in terms of games/exclusives just like the Wii was last generation.
If Microsoft continues to keep trying to reach the casual gamer, Sony will come out on top.

Also, I'm guessing nobody is going to buy an Xbox One to watch TV.

i don't DISAGREE with you, i'm more just saying that since i do have internet access, that this particular requirement won't be too big a hangup for me... that being said, if the console is useless W/O internet access, bad move on microsofts part.

i am kinda excited for the all-in-one idea though. one box to rule them all.

i readily admit i am partial to the xbox. i have both a ps3 and a 360, and my ps3 is collecting dust. even having to pay $60/year for the live experience, i was still drawn to the 360 more than the ps3 (well that, and the broken mlb.tv app on my ps3 forces me to use the 360).

so i was really excited for the one's announcement, and have overlooked the main concerns that more hardcore gamers have voiced. i actually use the kinect, don't mind having to have one connected. don't mind that it's a media device as much (or even more so) than a gaming console, because everyone else in my house besides me uses it for media and not gaming. don't mind the always on always connected because i don't pirate games or hack my consoles. the no used games idea does suck.... but if it pans out like this guy speculates in this article, then i am actually anxiously awaiting the results of no used games.
