What's new

Hey Kentucky boy (PeeKayEmm)

James Young is money. He's got a ton of offensive firepower and a sharp-shooting lefty.

I question his strength coming into the league as a one-and-done.. but am way excited to see the guy play this year. He's also a legit 6-7 now, they say.

Anyway, at 6-7 there is going to be about 10 - 12 guys in the mix that I would love to get... I think there are as many as 12 guys next year that could have gone #1 this year.

Clips from his MVP game.

Strokes it man, just cash money.
If the Haywerd gets his consistency up, and this kid comes into the league able to drain it from three.. adding into the mix we get that Miami dude Larkin that means you got the 3 point shooting. Then you add some bruisers like Favors and Kanter up front, like Joe Pesci said "Ping. Pong. Pow" We'd be that team you'd hate to play on any day of the week.

I'm sold on this guy if we don't somehow land #1 or #2.

And I just noticed, Calipari must be like the Mafioso Godfather of college basketball, he is Italian, by the way. He's got an entire starting lineup in the top 10 mock next year.

Yep. 4 straight #1 recruiting classes. He's on fire.

If you take the best of nbadraft.net and DX, UK has next year, the;

#2 (Randle - PF)
#5 (Willie Cauley-Stein - C)
#6 (James Young - SG/SF)
#7 (Andrew Harrison - PG)
#10 (Aaron Harrison - SG)
#24 (Alex Poythress - SF)

He had a minor injury at the end of last season (he's already played in the Jordan and Hoops Summit games since).
In his 10 games prior to injury;

1) 33pts - 12rbs
2) 27pts - 15rbs
3) 28pts - 15rbs
4) 32pts - 17rbs
5) 31pts - 19rbs
6) 39pts - 19rbs
7) 43pts - 22rbs
8) 23pts - 15rbs
9) 33pts - 11rbs
10) 33pts - 9rbs

So is this a general PKM Q&A thread?

If so can you tell us anything about Kentucky's Orlando Antigua being one of the three college coaches the Jazz brought in to help them work out the FA's in their little mini-camp this week.

Antigua is a total stud. A great coach and the kids flock to him... they love the guy, all of them do. It's interesting they brought him in.

Why is that interesting?

Just because Enes and Antigua are very close and Calipari is helping Antigua to move up. A possible hire by the Jazz? I hope not, tbh. He's awesome and he'd be a waste behind Corbin, so I'd just as soon see him stay at UK.

He would be VERY good for team chemistry and has been with Cal for a very long time.. has learned a thing or two about how to get young guys to buy into a cohesive dream.

Now that makes more sense.

Who were the other two coaches, mellow?

From Des News:

The Jazz also invited three college assistant coaches to help them with their 24-man free-agent camp, including BYU's Mark Pope, Kentucky's Orlando Antigua and Gonzaga's Tommy Lloyd.

I am not connected, and don't know what goes on behind the scenes. But I like what Lindsey is doing with the Jazz. To me the Jazz have always seemed a little self removed. Lindsey appears to be trying to change that.

Oh noes! I think Antigua is a Jazz man. I texted him and asked what was up with him helping the Jazz .. his response? "No Comment"

Interesting. Antigua is a current UK asst and Mark Pope was UK's center on their historically dominant 1996 team.

That also has a feel of scouting big men..

Maybe Kentucky is scouting Corbin for when becomes available?
=========

"No Comment" I laughed because even if you two were close, the nature of the buisness makes it necessary.

Does anyone know anything about Tommy Lloyd? Obviously he could give insight on Olynk, but anything else?

===================

So was this FA tryout really a coaching clinick to teach Ty & the Gang? Or an interview of sorts for a couple of openings on the Jazz staff? Interesting.
