So you would rather take what you see as a safe bet than shoot for the stars.(poss championship)

Isn't this the kind of thinking that got the jazz stuck in mediocrity?

It's up to the Ping Pong balls bro....

Since 1990, only 3 teams that has the worst record has ever won the lottery. In fact you have a better chance if you're 2nd, 3rd, or 5th (4th worst team has never won it).

No, I just think he's saying there's a very slim chance Utah winds up with the #1 or #2 pick. Even if Utah finished with the WORST record in the league - which I think is unlikely given the rosters of Boston, Orlando and Phoenix - the Jazz would only have a 46% chance of winding up with the #1 or #2 pick. Let's say the Jazz finish with the 5th worst record. The chance of getting Wiggins or Parker is only 18.5%.

Outside of T3K3's profanity, I feel the same way: I'd be ecstatic if the Jazz got that lucky. But I'm not going to be moping around if we end up with a fantastic player like Randle, Harrison, etc. And the idea of combining assets to trade up for Wiggins? Not going to happen. This is a guy viewed as the next LeBron, Kobe or MJ. No one is going to trade out of the #1. Possibly, we could have a shot at Parker if he's ranked fairly even with Randle, Harrison or others. But it would likely take the #3 or #4 and hoping GS' pick also falls in the lottery. It will be THAT expensive to move up...if the #2 team even considers it.

Your hoping for Andrew Harrison? What do you have against Wiggins anyway? You wouldn't take him even if we did get lucky and draft first would you?
