Nope, I've nothing to do with that kind of industry, just play an occasional round of game with ppl I know. Stepped away from gaming years ago. I just think I've insight similar to KKKs of what it can do. I just dislike the generalization. I mean there's many things in life that are potentially dangerous or threatening in very certain situations. Yet they don't get equally scrutinized(Starting with alcohol or tobacco). It's usually just lack of interest/education that leads to such assumptions as partially expressed here.
If I have no clue about a subject I research if I'm interested, ask other about it or just read/ignore what others say.
But with gaming everyone feels entitled to have an opinion regardless of qualification.

It's no heroin but it can be addictive.

I was addicted to making alts when I was just finishing off my Masters degree. I was having fun with it literally 18-20 hours a day, collecting rep, pissing people off, perfecting my alt-persona, educating myself about Colorado etc. I didn't eat very well. I didn't go to most of my classes. I remembered going to a Finals exam and had no idea what to answer. I got like 35% for that exam.

I nearly failed that 2nd to last semester before I decided enough was enough and gave my account password to another poster, who stripped it of all the rep (hence I had to literally stop posting).

That saved me. I had never been addicted to anything in my life at that point (girls, drugs, alcohol,... nothing). That was a time in my life I wasn't very proud of.

It's no heroin but it can be addictive.

I was addicted to this online golf game when I was just finishing off my Masters degree. I was playing it literally 18-20 hours a day, collecting points, collecting new items, perfecting my moves, etc. I didn't eat very well. I didn't go to most of my classes. I remembered going to a Finals exam and had no idea what to answer. I got like 35% for that exam.

I nearly failed that 2nd to last semester before I decided enough was enough and gave my account password to another player, who stripped it of all the items (hence I had to literally stop playing).
