Finally took the plunge and published my book

@Edgewriter, after more than a year I finally got the kindle v of the first book. I'm gonna start reading it this morning while I'm on the bus. It will be a long travel so I'm sure your book will help a lot.

I checked the series and saw the 4th book is out and the 5th one is coming. I'm excited to begin a new series yet again.

As I understand, "Mother of the Moonrat" will be the last book of your series. I'm planning getting to it slowly. I like reading series slowly and regularly. Right now I'm thinking to give two weeks per book so I can finish the first 4 books in about two months. I hope then the final book would be published. Do you have an estimated time for when it will be released?

By the way, I'm just about to finish "The Great Hunt" of the "The Wheel of time" series. This one is about 700 pages and after I finish it, there will be about only 10K pages left to finish the series. (It's 14 books now)

Mother of the Moonrat will be out in October. I actually quit my day job so that I could finish it in time. I am now a full-time writer. I'm very excited about it. Please keep me informed on what you think of the books as you go!

The Wheel of Time is a great series but books 6-10 are a SLOG. Robert Jordan let his world get away from him there. I am almost finished with book ten and I hear that books 11 and on (finished after his death by author Brandon Sanderson) are really good, so if you can get past about 4000 pages of intermittent drudgery it may be worth it.

October, it's great! It will be the best timing for me. I'm very happy you're a full time writer now. I remember you talking about it somewhere in this thread, that you would quit your day job if you can make a living with this. Now I believe you can spend much more time on writing and as you do hopefully you will earn better. Win-win, not only for you but for us readers too.

RIP, R. Jordan. I think he wanted to finish the series at 12th book but couldn't gather it, even if he was alive it would still be extended to 14 books, maybe because of the slog you're talking about. But so far it's great, I'm just reading it like I'm watching a long TV series. So I think I can bear through it.

Meanwhile I will definitely make you know about how the book is going. I will also write a review about each book but not on Amazon because I bought the book from Kobo.(Amazon is a TOTAL bitch when it comes to kindle, nothing available for Turkey)
 
So, what's next after the Bowl of Souls? I'd like to read a standalone book from you. I always compare the works of the writers within their works. Standalone vs Series is a given.

Ok, lets get something straight. Those 4000 pages weren't awful, they were just fluff from a guy creating something for fanboys to talk over. If you're the type that can immerse yourself in a world with unrivaled depth, you're going to enjoy them, or at least find them worth the time you spent reading them.

But then you get to the last three books. And yes, those last three books are awesome. Particularly the last two. The last battle quite literally was the bulk of the last book, which was great to see done so well. I feel like they really take you through the ebb and flow of a huge battle/war in it's entirety. They're on a different plain of existence than just about anything I've ever read. IMO, I'd rather read the Towers of Midnight and A Memory of Light again than the Hobbit.


Mr Edge, I'll pick up your first book(Eye of the Moonrat) in the next couple of days and check it out.
 
Thanks ElRoach0. I agree that those 4000 pages aren't awful per se. They just don't go anywhere fast. That's why its a slog. I'm 3/4 of the way through book ten and a full day hasn't passed by since the end of book nine. I am looking forward to finishing it, though. I love the series as a whole. I must have read the first five books 3 or four times. Thanks for giving mine a try.

I am writing a stand alone book next once the series is done. In the meantime, you could read Hilt's Pride. It is part of the series, but is also a stand alone book. I'm sorry Amazon is so hard to deal with in Turkey. I'm glad Kobo was easier. And please, leave a review on Kobo for me. Sales there are a bid enemic and I could use a boost there. Amazon has 98 reviews and last I looked, Kobo had none.

It occurs during the events of book one, but I would suggest read it between books three and four because that's when I wrote it. They refer to events in the first book and talk about concepts discussed in book three. However, it is meant to stand alone and knowledge of the other books isn't completely necessary.

I love this kind of thing. King did it with his Dark Tower series and it has made the whole of his works all that much more enjoyable. Great idea, sir.
