come on man. He has no authority. As example Big-AL... Who would disagree with a fat guy who is 6-10 ? No one, because of this he was a natural leader.
Big-AL was nice too. BUT the diffence is Big AL has chosen to be nice... He could be a very bad guy if he wants. But Hayward never will, because his nature is to be nice, polite and respektful. If he tries, than he will end up like the other ("above-average-intelligent") AAI guys in high school.


Imagine you are Derrick Favors, frustrated that you are losing a game and than you see a guy like Gordan Hayward with his elb-like Face going at you and shouting. How would you react ? Favors would eat him alive someday...

To lbe a leader , It is not just about beeing respected. Their you are right, but to be respected is one of the most important points their. A guy who is naturally respected, has the potential to be a leader. Big-AL had, but he chose to be a nice guy.

The leader of this team will come out naturally. At this point i think its early to ask "who is the leader of this team?" question. Time will tell, its a learning process but if you ask "Who is gonna be the leader of this team?" i place my bets on Hayward. But its also up to him and how he handles the situations on the court/off the court in breaking points.

i dont recall Burks, Favors or anyone else on the team barking at Big Al last year. Hayward did, quite often as they were walking to the bench.


There are a lot of different leaders and Hayward has a style that is effective, based on earned respect. Trey is not the leader of this team just becauae he said do on draft night... lol.
