Going on a Jazz road trip

I am born and raised in Australia and have followed the Jazz since game 6 vs the bulls (not exactly the best game to start following the Jazz on). That was the first game I was ever able to watch on TV here and was still pretty young. I've stuck with the team through thick and thin and even flew over for 3 Jazz game in SLC about 4 years ago.

I am now coming back and have decided to do a big trip. I am starting in Miami when we play the Heat on 16 Dec. I'm going on the road to Orlando, Atlanta and Charlotte before flying to Memphis and then on to SLC for the game vs Lakers, Bobcats and Bucks. I'm then going to fly to LA to see the game vs the Lakers on 03 Jan before flying home to Sydney. This will have me in SLC from 24 Dec 13 - 03 Jan 14.

I'm keen to see as much as I can in each city I visit and do as much as possible. Has anyone got any ideas of what is worth doing in any of these cities (I'm definitely going to Graceland in Memphis)?

I'm really excited about the trip and can't wait to get to the States!!

:D

Welcome to the board. Well Orlando has Disney World, Atlanta has the Coke museum, Memphis has country music, Charlotte has Racing but whatever you do, DON't judge America on these cities. The South is definitely different than most of the country. Too bad you couldn't swing New Orleans. That is a fun city if you like to party.

Welcome to Jazz nation. What can you tell us of Dante Exum?

LA is great so much to do. The Getty, Hollywood, The Bowl, the beaches (Venice- people watching), Six Flags, Disneyland (OC), restaurants, etc. Go early to the game and you can walk around Staples center.

Welcome, ADS. Looking fwd to following your story while you're living it.
Pretty cool that you were able to post an avi with post #1. Savvy.

Did I say they weren't part of AMerica? Sometimes people who visit America go to one place or one section of America and think that particular area represents all of America. It would be the same for LA, NY etc. I only mentioned the SOuth because I didn't read he was going to LA until I had already posted my first post.

Sensitive?

I'm "from" everywhere.. meaning lived about everywhere for extended periods... so no.. not a sensitive thing.
But when a guy says he's going to Miami and LA along with some other southern cities and you say please DoN'T judge murica on the south!!! 1! It kinda reeks of #2, tbpfhwy.

Yo, ADS.. PLEASE DO NOT judge America on SLC!

I'm impressed you would do that with this team. Obviously the highlight will probably be the traveling you do beyond watching the games but it's kind of cool you've built it around that. I imagine every arena will have a special- we're playing the Jazz - markdown for those games too which is nice. If you run into either Myself or Sophia Vergara along your route, don't judge other Americans by us. We're much better looking.

How long are you going to be in L.A.?

SLC you should obviously go snowboarding/skiing somewhere in Park City. Do the bobsled run there too. Break a few bones.
