Greg Oden waived

I think we should not only sign Greg Oden, but also Curtis Borchardt to compete with Oden in practice/rehab, then sign Shaun Livingston this summer because Harris sucks, and lure Jay Williams out of retirement and his cushy espn gig in case Watson gets hurt again. Sure - all those guys are injury prone and not the same players they were entering the draft - but if they can become half the player they used to be...

Hi JazzSpazz, thanks for reading my emails.

Scoring a basket is simple and complex. You have to be a scorer in this league to do it, but even a scrub can do it -- during warmups, that is. But what does Oden have to do? If he gets a baby hook, he'll be on his way in no time.

For Your second question, you ever heard the phrase "beating the bush"? When something is done over and over, like what Oden is done, you say he is "beating the bush".

...but what if Oden shaved?

Is English your native tongue? I thought you were supposedly a professor.

1. Beating the bushes means searching everywhere (such as beating the bushes to find a job). It does not mean doing something over and over. Other than getting injured, Oden hasn't done much over and over. Perhaps in your original post, you meant Utah has repeatedly signed bad centers. If so, why not just state that plainly, instead of beating around the bush?

2. It's probably easier to put a basket in the hole. I don't know, though, what if it's a small hole and a very large basket? And what if the hole then gets covered with dirt? Hey, that gives me a great idea for hiding my daughter's easter basket. But I digress.

I am glad, however, that good ol' James Naismith finally decided to put holes in his baskets. It must have been pretty boring watching guys on ladders retrieve the balls after every made shot. Let's just hope guys like CJ, Bell, Hayward and Howard soon have better luck putting the ball in the basket, or "in the hole." Otherwise all of us may be basket cases pretty soon.

He should sign with the Suns as they have a miracle rehab and training staff as seen with their success with Grant Hill, Michael Redd, and others.

Oden was a monster in college - I think he'll play again - but the question is for how long?

I'd be willing to bet (actual money) that he doesn't play a cumulative 48 minutes, in the NBA, from this point forward.

I will gladly take your money. $25.00 sound good to you? Of course, I will wait until he is physically ineligible to play (age, etc), which could be years -- but I expect you to pay me the second he hits 0:49.

If Greg Oden signs, I eagerly anticipate a new poster called Greg Oden's Dong.

For those of you that don't get it, google image Greg Oden, and then google image Santonio Holmes. Do it.

He should simply call it quits. Otherwise knowing his luck he'll be wheeling himself around in a chair by the time he's 30. Just not worth it.

Jesus Christ. Really? Really? REALLY! Greg Oden! A Greg Oden comeback is like Jerry West coming out of retirement. Posts this rediculous should be alcohol influenced. Stop making Larry Miller turn in his grave. Can't the poor guy rest?

High risk, low reward.

The guy's played 82 games in his entire career. Any developmental potential he had is long gone.

I also think we should pick up Greg Oden. Here is a guy who can do what it takes to win. He'll grab the rebounds and put the basket in the hole.

I would probably put the ball in the basket.

If you're going to pretend to be someone smart you are going to try a little harder fake Craig.
On the flip side fake Craig, if you put some effort into pretending to be smart, you may actually make some progress.

I saw Dan Gadzuric play in a DLeague game last night. He was picked one spot higher than Boozer in the draft. He would be better than Oden imho.

Dude take some prozac or xanax or something.

I agree. I don't think Oden will play again.
I think he was 40 when he came out of college, there is no way he was 19 or 20.

...yeah, we need another non-scoring center, hurt most of the season and in trouble for tweeting/posting personal porn on the internet!
