What's new

Anybody else think Alec Burks can be a 20-25PPG player with 30+ MPG?

burks can be a 20-25 ppg like AJ. who is a deficiency for the team on defensive end

Still waiting for fishon's response

About what?
The burks critique?

I thoughy you did a good job and it seems like you thought he had a pretty good game like the rest of us did.

Burks is looking better and better. Last night was one of the worst games I've ever watched him play in... but for every bad game he plays a few good to great games. He's getting an acceptable amount of minutes now and if Hayward wants too much money I agree and say we replace him with Burks.

Everybody knows he needs to be more consistent with his shot and defense. I don't think enough people are talking about his SLIGHT need to improve his slashing: right now he doesn't have a great 'off-speed' pitch... everything is at a similar speed. If he could really hesitate before exploding, he'd be an automatic 20ppg guy.

I don't know, but he's making me feel silly for hating on him earlier this season, fwiw.

I'm in that crowd too. I was not too high on Burks early on. How he makes half his shots, I have no idea. I like him in a Ginobili/Magette role: coming off the bench but still getting starter-type minutes. The one thing I have liked about Corbin is having Alec and Enes come off the bench. They should be getting more minutes (at the expense off Jefferson and Williams), but I do like having those two as subs. I think that's likely the plan next season. Provided the Jazz don't get a top-5 pick, Lindsey is likely to find 1-2 FA's to come in and start at SF and in a "stretch-4" role. The 2 draft picks will strengthen the bench and Neto will slide into the backup PG role.

If that's the plan, then I hope you're happy with the 7th or 8th seed. The jazz need a couple real impact players; internal improvement, a couple of draft picks, and a couple of role players aren't nearly enough.

Haven't checked last night's game yet. Was gone all day watching German ball.

I was at a party and missed it, but judging from the box score.... it wasnt pretty.
Of course hayward and trey both sucked (according to the box score) and each still got lots of minuted.

Burks was given 16 minutes
