GAME THREAD: 3/26/14 - Grizzlies @ Jazz, 8:30 local, ESPN

Great loss this way we can say nice try and it won't hurt burke's feelings. I don't personally like these close games because we shouldn't even play with that untanking fire or we might get burned.

i actually really like short rotation, just wish it had no rj or marvin. Really feel like we played too many players in years past, so nobody could really shine. I think 8 like pacers is perfect.

Hahaha, love reading the game threads when the Jazz play well. People get all depressed and miserable and crap.

Jazz played great!!! Showed they can compete (without Burks no less) with a playoff team and then let it slip away at the end.

Great line from Favors. Kanter, Hayward and Burke all look nice as well. How did Kanter's D look (didn't watch the game)?

Loooong time lurker here. First year season ticket holder, got them to show my support for the rebuild...I mean tank. I shook Randy Rigby's hand last night, didn't have the balls to tell him I'd renew my tickets if he promised Ty would be gone next year. Jazz upgraded me last night to first row under the basket which was sweet! And I was on ESPN last night!

Anyways, first post and all:

Kanter was a beast in the first half, being five feet from that dunk was awesome.

You could call a foul most every play.

Glad Memphis finally turned it on and the refs bailed us out on the Randolph play.

Lose out, let Ty walk, get lucky, get Wiggins and then Go Jazz!

This is the type of loss I want.

Effort, plenty of time for the youngs, some signs of life, and another loss.

It's amazing what happens when we play with some effort

You mean, a loss where the other team coasts for 2 1/2 quarters, turns up the intensity, grinds us down, jams our set offense completely, and imposes their will? I saw a Grizzlies team that ignored us like a grown dog ignores a puppy tugging at its ear, until it grows tired of the sport, growls, and sends that pup whimpering away. That's going to turn them into better players?

We played decent defense for most of the game, except for Burke's inability to get around screens. Outside of that, I didn't see anything particularly good happening.

The Grizzlies played like dirt most of the game, which is the only reason it was close. Kanter did fairly well on Gasol (and I think he also guarded Randolph) for most of the game. When the Grizzlies took the game seriously, they made us look bad.

It was nice to see the Jazz were trying to up the pace. I hope they keep that up.

How much I hate this season:

Not once did I cheer for nice score, nor moan over bad play. I just didn't care enough to get emotionally involved. Baking cookies was more entertaining.
