Following potential 2014 draftees

I would be intrigued by Lavine with the GS pick for sure.

I agree this way it can work for him. IF someone trades for him like Philly who have tons of development minutes to distribute. But if he lands on the Clippers or Rockets. Good Bye!

If we draft Gordon, and he's another Andrei Kirilenko, I will hang myself with my bathroom towell.

You wouldn't want another early year AK? Especially one who's body projects to actually have weight baring potential and isn't going to have a max contract?

The AK hate really needs to die. He was a top 10 player in his prime, and I still contend he played out of position his last 4-5 years with Utah.

He's a PF. His career died when we signed Boozer.

I have a confession to make and some repentin to do.

My draft board has been pretty consistent: wiggins, parker, embiid, randle, exum, vonleh, Gordon, smart.

Well, I have seen wiggins, parker, embiid, randle, and smart play quite a few times.... never really saw vonleh or Gordon play so I was just going off stats, highlights and things I had heard about them.

I finally watched Gordon play last night and realized how wrong I have been about him. I always heard that his best attribute was his athleticism. His athleticism is amazing but I felt like his number 1 quality is his incredible motor. I believe he has an elite motor, elite athleticism, elite defense, possibly elite bbiq, and elite intangibles (I love his personality/attitude)
This is all basically from watching one game (and some highlights) but I think he has extremely low bust potential.

I had always heard about his poor outside shot and poor free throw shooting and lack of offense and that is mostly what had me hatin. (I love offense much more than defense)
Watching him go to the line last night I expected to see an ugly shot but was surprised to see really good form and a nice release and good arch and everything. Yet he missed them and his percentage cant be ignored. I have to think he will improve ALOT from the line because his mechanics are sound.

Even if he never becomes a good free throw shooter or outside shooter, his motor is so high and his bbiq, athleticism, attitude, and defense will make him a quality starter for any team who drafts him...... I was also worried about what position he would play, but because of his elite strengths to his game I think he is one of the rare cases where its a luxury to be a "tweener" because you can move him around in your lineup depending on where he is needed defensively.
Add in the fact that he is the youngest of the freshman, and I believe he his body will develop really nicely, and you have an even better and likely more polished player rather quickly.

To summarize....... I confess that I hated without actually watching his Airgordoness play, and I repent for my sin of hatin.

My new draft board:
1. Wiggins (just what the jazz need position wise, defensively, for excitement and publicity, and highest ceiling in the draft)
2. Embiid (if his back is good to go then he has the second highest ceiling and the jazz need to swing for the fences)
3. Parker (I believe he will be the best stretch four that the league has seen and he will be the most marketable to the jazz fan base for selling tickets and jerseys)
4. Gordon (stud, aint gonna bust, Highest motor/work ethic in this draft, great defensively, great attitude, will provide fans with lots of highlight dunks and blocks)
5. Randle (A beast of man already with a nice offensive skillset. Bully with some nastiness that the jazz need)
6. Exum (never seen him play. Putting him here due to the "experts" opinions of him)
7. Vonleh (only seen highlights of him but he is big and long and seems to already be able to shoot and defend pretty well)
8. Smart (don't want another dude to come and take minutes from burks.... also don't love his size regardless of his wingspan. Need to be an elite shooter to be effective imo.... if he could shoot like eric Gordon then I would have him a lot higher... but alas, he cant.)

The Gordon bandwagon grows larger with each passing game.

Gordon is just a likeable dude. His game is just so unique, to have his level of natural skill, IQ, and athletic ability is crazy. Just has that one huge flaw of FT shooting. His actually shooting isn't that bad.

I'm sorry, but I'm still not over my AK HATE!

It's not a terrible comparison but AK is nowhere near the athlete Gordon is, and Gordon is already stronger. And he'll only continue to add strength. He has a good frame, work ethic, and is the youngest player in the draft.

Point is, his ceiling is higher than what AK was, imo.

According to Rockets GM Daryl Morey, the time that NBA fans spend theorizing player signings and trade scenarios isn’t completely wasted.

In a tweet asking if GM's check message boards for ideas, Morey simply responded, "we do."

We do RT @jamesasteven: @dmorey Do nba GMs (to your knowledge) ever gain trade/transaction ideas from online message boards/fans?

Wouldn't be surprised if DL read Jazzfanz. He is young enough to be internet savvy.

Wouldn't be surprised if a guy like KOC never read it though.

And Sloan would say,
"What the %^$# is Jazzfanz? I don't need no whiny, *&^$% *, punk &^%, *&^%$# fans to comment on my job. I've forgotten more basketball than all of those ^&%$#@ internet $%^&* have ever known...combined. Those &*^%$&^%$ need to move out of their parents' basement and get a %$#@!&^ job!"

Well, if Lindsey IS reading this board, let me just say I think you really can't go wrong with anyone that is projected between 4 and 8. And there are so many great prospects at #23 too. I trust your talent evaluation, trust you will turn over every rock like you did last summer and will support any picks you make (unless you reach for McDermott with the 1st pick).

That aside, all I request is one itty bitty, very simple thing. And it's not something you really need to do; rather, it's something you need to NOT do. There is a very importand contract expiring at the end of the season. No, it's not Biedrins, Jefferson, Marvin or Rush. In fact, it's not a player at all. I know you don't like to offend people. So just do what banks do with customers. When this certain man calls to ask if he'll have a job next season, just let the call go to voice mail and don't call back. He'll get the message soon enough and will start looking at other options. Once he's accepted a position elsewhere, you can then call a press conference, thank him for his years of service and say you were interested in bringing him back, but "Team X" made him an offer he couldn't refuse and you wish him the best of luck.

Thanks so much, Dennis

Yours truly,
A very devoted Jazz fan.

my issue is... at the end of the day we are talking about 10lbs... and some are pretending like thats a dealbreaker, its totally trivial

While in principle I agree with you, y'all are misunderstanding this 10 lbs thing.

If a guy is 6'3 and 190, and the other guy is 6'5 and 180, then there is a lot more than a 10 pound difference going on.
