Vonleh, Smart, Ennis, LaVine, and others - Lakers/Kings Workout Vids

Vonleh looks like he has good form, a bit slow of a release but good form. Moreland looks like he shoots it from the waist.

I'm down on Marcus Smart after this.

Have even worked anyone out that rates higher than 20 on the draft boards?

Yeah, we are working out Gordon today I think or soon, we had a private work out with Vonleh in New York a week or so ago. We worked out Payne too. That's about it I think.

Somehow, I'm thinking that we're more likely to see teams put out portions of workouts that are not as flattering. (Or, I guess they post flattering videos of players they're not interested in.) If other teams will use them as justification to pass on a player, it's an effective smokescreen.

I still think that the best way to evaluate a player is by using the tape, then factor in combine measurements, interviews, workouts (which really are not that worthwhile considering that they don't actually simulate basketball situations) and of course - medical and injury history.

No team-sponsored workout posted on Youtube is going to change my draft board. I'm starting to come around on Noah Vonleh, but it's because of his game-tape, not his workouts. . .

Workouts can be good for another interview away from the combine. From what I hear, the Jazz have one of the harder ones, and there's altitude. At the least, Jazz can do a lot of things to assess how A. Gordon's touch is.

Other than that, game tape and measurements are the way to go.

I've heard that big group workouts can be a little scripted by agents. So when teams have their own workouts they get to put the players through all their tests, etc.
