Sure it did...until he starts playing actual games again. Bowie looked wonderful in workouts too; he was concealing a bad knee so he could get drafted and get paid. With Embiid's agent holding his medical records, can anyone be really sure he's fully disclosing everything? He's been very selective in what has been revealed. It even took some digging to learn of the back pain Embiid experienced in HS.

Bowie later said he lied about feeling okay in the physicals (when they hit his tibia with a medical hammer). Jordan broke his foot in 85'-86' and Embiid weighs a measly 30 lbs more despite being 7 inches taller. You want to show me your medical credentials?

Don't have any but have read three reports from medical experts re: his type of injury. Way too risky a pick for Utah.
Jazz: get the pick wrong, destroy any hope of contending

I don't know about you but this was a fun year besides Cavs getting the #1 pick and Corbin being the coach. Why not go he Nerlens Noel route and tank one more year while seeing what we have with our core 5 with a new coach. Embiid could turn out to be a bust or he could be a star nobody really knows. Jazz need to take a risk for a star.

Utah "tanking" in 2014-15 would likely mean 30+ wins. And that gets a pick in the 8-12 range.
A lot of things went "right" to help the Jazz lose so many games last season:
1) Burke was out to start the season (Tinsley and JLIII ran the show)
2) Trey struggled shooting-wise the entire year.
3) Favors was hurt off and on.
4) Hayward had his worst season as a pro.
5) Ty was the coach.
6) The team flat out quit the last 1 1/2 months.

The same "opportunities" won't be there to lose as many games, unless the Jazz go "Philly-style" and trade Burks, Kanter and Favors for 2nd-round picks and let Hayward walk in free agency.
