Dante Exum's workouts.........

Yeah, I just wish we had a guarantee that our #5 pick was the best player in this draft. If he's not, then I say we should have taken one of the other guaranteed players who got drafted behind him. Draft picks are nothing to gamble with, after all.

Whats the worry about?

The guys in the videos said they hadnt seen a guy like this since michael jordan or kobe bryant.

sit back, and watch the title run

IMO it's just because he was "Too much of a mystery" Cleveland couldn't handle another draft like last year and either Wiggins or Parker are about as close to a sure thing you could get. Same with the Bucks. Then I think the 76ers realized they weren't getting Wiggins so they just went all in for the tank again next year. Orlando I'm not sure why they didn't take him unless they absolutely loved Gordon when he worked out and DL just over-hyped him by bringing him back for a second workout. Then there is us. Why not swing for the fences. We don't have a all-star and with Exum only being 18 and already with the height and speed you take the chances and pray he turns into a great PG (or SG) by year 2 or 3. It's going to take some time with him but I have I hopes IF he develops correctly. I think DL had Exum higher than Parker/Wiggins on his board and is the Houdini when it comes to smoke screens

Yea the psych stuff was mentioned by Ford. Its not a huge worry but I think its a valid concern that out of all the teams that he worked out for he was not able to convince them to draft him.

Bulls fan 1: Two teams passed on Michael last night. That's a valid concern.

I am thrilled we got Exum and I know there is plenty of fan buzz about his potential stardom in the league. But I do find one thing that is sort of alarming....

I believe he worked out with all 4 teams (Cavs, Bucks, Sixers, Magic) Yet none of those teams drafted him.....

So can anyone make me feel better about this? Any link or news stories about how he did in the workouts? I trust the scouts but at the same time when you watch his highlight videos its just the same 15 plays with different edits and music.

The fact that the Sixers chose to go with a player with a bad foot and back and that Aaron Gordon was able to leap frog Exum is concerning. Especially since Orlando was in desperate need of a PG.

I think everyone on this board agreed that IF Gordon could shoot, he would be in discussions as one of the top players in the draft... think Wiggins with fire. Gordon shot well in several workouts... and he shot well at Orlando as well. They took a risk that he will indeed be able to develop into a top player. The GM had seen Exum as well, and told people he did not pass on Exum because of the unknown factor "I've seen Exum enough".

Reality is, both Gordon and Exum present risks. Both players have a LOT of developing to do. I think Orlando played it by size, honestly. Its a bit harder to find a 6'9" super athletic wing (although, that's a tough argument to make because how many 6'6" legit point guards come along?). Apparently Orlando liked the risk/reward of Gordon better, and were confident they could find an adequate point guard later (which they probably did).

Personally, I'll trust Utah's scouts. From what we read they had it Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Gordon and were hoping that Gordon would fall to them. Instead Exum fell to them. Even better. I suspect that all 4 players will have very good careers, but ALL of them have some sort of red flag.

Also, Exum and Gordon are both so young that they have a lot of developing left. Both teams are going to need to be patient to a degree.
