i hope you are joking.
In a tournament where everyone can score, what team can defend? How can you implement any kind of defensive gameplan without anyone protecting the rim?
I really like hotttnickkk's starters. Concerned about playmaking off the bench. I'll have to think about it. Interesting experiment would have been to put Reggie starting at SG, put Pippen at SF, and brought Melo off the bench to guarantee some points from there. But not many would bring the greatest player of all time off the bench, so I understand (I probably wouldn't do it either)

Shaq isn't one of the greatest defenders ever by any means, but to say there's no one protecting the rim is just silly. He's 7th all time in blocks and has made all NBA defensive teams.
McHale made 6 all NBA defensive teams.
Gasol is a DPOY.

LOL .. yeah but this might be my last tournament for a while actually... it does take a lot out of you, time, energy, effort, etc.
Plus I wouldn't mind sitting on the sideline as a "critic" for a change... LOL!!

I would have liked to vote for Spycam1, because that Shaq/Dirk pairing is just nasty. . . but I couldn't make myself do it. Outside of those two plus McHale and T-Mac as the 6th man, I just don't like the rest of that team. I love what HotttNickkk did with his team.
Defensively minded team that maintains some scoring punch. I'm a big fan of the Kidd, Miller, Pippen and Melo guard/wing combo. I'm sorry, but Pippen is not overrated. If anything, I think he's underrated. I don't like him as a 2, but putting Anthony in as a 3 sort of makes up for that. Miller off the bench is clutch. And while Shaq/Dirk/McHale is a freaking awesome frontline, Mutumbo/Duncan/Howard/Chandler/Alldridge is even better IMO. Not a huge fan of Mutumbo, but I love Duncan in this matchup. They've got the bodies to bang on Dirk and Shaq to wear them down.
In a matchup like this, I see Dumcan putting the team on his back and taking the title. So that's how I voted. One more for HotttNickkk - I hope he wins. That defense is ridiculous. It would be a grind to beat them in a series, and I think they take that kind of matchup.

Hey Ellis - thanks bro for your detailed analysis!! I honestly couldn't have put it better myself - so glad someone understood what I'm trying to do with this team.
Thanks also for your participation in this tourney man, I remember you trying to make your draft pick while you were in the ER with your kids, am I correct???? That's total commitment really. I had an eye accident myself during that time and remembered reading your post while I was waiting in the doctor's office also.
On reflection, it's amazing what an eventful and fun time this last month has been!!!

I like the teams that both of you put together. You deserve to be here in the finals. I'm just a defensive minded guy, so your team really appeals to me. Plus I strongly considered drafting several of your players if you hadn't snagged them ahead of me - Pippen, Miller, Kidd, Howard and Melo are all guys that I'd have drafted if I had the chance. Wish I'd taken Dirk, and I strongly considered grabbing T-Mac and McHale, but you guys were able to build solid teams with those guys to get this far.

Yeah. It's been crazy. Plus I started a new job and had to figure out how to get my son's 6th grade football team ready for the season minus my top 3 players (who were taken by the A-team coach) and replace my entire staff (because it was their kids that they took.)
I'm basically starting over with a brand new group of kids, a new staff and less than two weeks to prepare for our first game. I have two girls on my team and a bunch of skinny, little kids at my skills positions. . . and it didn't matter a bit. We blew out our opponent 44 - 0. I've been stressing about my little team, but they're rock solid. Guess it pays to be patient.
Yah I remembered you had to deal with that too - an epic cluster**** I think you were saying - so glad it all worked out OK!!!

Yeah. It was nuts. All of the B-teams in our league lost players like we did and it set them all back. Nobody seemed ready for the season except for us.
One of my little girls on the team had her dad pass away over the summer. She's been playing RB and OLB and picking it up slowly. Her whole family flew in from all over the country in honor of her dad to watch her play (she's wearing his number.) In her first game, she ripped off over 100 yards and a TD, plus a 2 point conversion. That, even more than winning, made me the most happy. She needed that.

Best part of the day was when one of the Lehi coaches yelled out really loudly, "C'mon guys! Don't let HER run you over like that!"
If they weren't already mentally beaten by how my team was whipping them, then that did the trick. I have to admit that I was laughing my *** off on the sideline when I heard that.
