Hahahahahaha... That's GOLD BRO!!!

THAT. IS. GOLD.
Yeah. It was pretty epic. Even if we hadn't been winning big, that would have made my day.

I have to admit that it's pretty crazy to think that I've got a girl starting at RB and she's a beast.

Always thought I'd be open to playing a girl at RB or QB if she had the talent, but never really though that it would work out that way. Couldn't be more happy to be wrong. She was smasing through tackles and running away from the defense.

Looking at this on a position by position basis, as far as who guards who, I think I like Kinkkk's team here. I'm surprised actually because I love spy's prime time players but I feel like Nick's guys would defend spy's quite well and that Kink would be able to get some easier baskets.

Having said that, what may away me toward spy is Shaq destroying Mutombo.

Drafting Al Jefferson in the next draft guarantees you CAKAR's vote. Good to know.

LOL .. yeah but this might be my last tournament for a while actually... it does take a lot out of you, time, energy, effort, etc.

Plus I wouldn't mind sitting on the sideline as a "critic" for a change... LOL!! ;)

I would have liked to vote for Spycam1, because that Shaq/Dirk pairing is just nasty. . . but I couldn't make myself do it. Outside of those two plus McHale and T-Mac as the 6th man, I just don't like the rest of that team. I love what HotttNickkk did with his team.

Defensively minded team that maintains some scoring punch. I'm a big fan of the Kidd, Miller, Pippen and Melo guard/wing combo. I'm sorry, but Pippen is not overrated. If anything, I think he's underrated. I don't like him as a 2, but putting Anthony in as a 3 sort of makes up for that. Miller off the bench is clutch. And while Shaq/Dirk/McHale is a freaking awesome frontline, Mutumbo/Duncan/Howard/Chandler/Alldridge is even better IMO. Not a huge fan of Mutumbo, but I love Duncan in this matchup. They've got the bodies to bang on Dirk and Shaq to wear them down.

In a matchup like this, I see Dumcan putting the team on his back and taking the title. So that's how I voted. One more for HotttNickkk - I hope he wins. That defense is ridiculous. It would be a grind to beat them in a series, and I think they take that kind of matchup.

Hey Ellis - thanks bro for your detailed analysis!! I honestly couldn't have put it better myself - so glad someone understood what I'm trying to do with this team.

Thanks also for your participation in this tourney man, I remember you trying to make your draft pick while you were in the ER with your kids, am I correct???? That's total commitment really. I had an eye accident myself during that time and remembered reading your post while I was waiting in the doctor's office also.

On reflection, it's amazing what an eventful and fun time this last month has been!!!

Yeah. It was my wife with a bad kidney infection that we're still trying to sort out.

I like the teams that both of you put together. You deserve to be here in the finals. I'm just a defensive minded guy, so your team really appeals to me. Plus I strongly considered drafting several of your players if you hadn't snagged them ahead of me - Pippen, Miller, Kidd, Howard and Melo are all guys that I'd have drafted if I had the chance. Wish I'd taken Dirk, and I strongly considered grabbing T-Mac and McHale, but you guys were able to build solid teams with those guys to get this far.

Well done and good luck.

Yeah. It's been crazy. Plus I started a new job and had to figure out how to get my son's 6th grade football team ready for the season minus my top 3 players (who were taken by the A-team coach) and replace my entire staff (because it was their kids that they took.)

I'm basically starting over with a brand new group of kids, a new staff and less than two weeks to prepare for our first game. I have two girls on my team and a bunch of skinny, little kids at my skills positions. . . and it didn't matter a bit. We blew out our opponent 44 - 0. I've been stressing about my little team, but they're rock solid. Guess it pays to be patient.

Maybe you guys should get a room. Lol. The estrogen flowing between you two is off the charts:)

anyway i chose spy's team. it was tough decision. i really like hotnickkkk's team alot. it was basically a coin flip for me on paper.

but i thought about spy's team alot and i'm starting to like this team alot if i stop worrying about the chemistry. but there is a catch.

this would be my starting lineup

zeke
clyde
dirk
mchale
shaq

yes, dirk will be my 3. i always thought prime dirk would flourish at 3 even with his defensive limitations. and for this team, he won't have to worry about the defense too much because i'm putting mchale - a defensive wizard at 4 and shaq will protect the rim with the help of mchale. shaq's presence will be huge and he will get mchale's help. it's a perfect compliment. dirk will bother any SFs with his length. his lateral quickness lacks, but when you go up against mchale & shaq, players will be timid in attacking the rim anyway. and mchale is such a great help defender that dirk won't have to worry too much.

IMO, this is the only way to beat hotnickk's team. go big and go all offense. basically spy's team has 3 best offensive player on the floor, and that would be enough to counter great defense of hotnickk's team.

Dwight Howard can score - the numbers don't lie.

67 Playoffs Games

20.3pts, 14.1reb, 2.7blocks

dwight howard vs. old and fat heat/cavs/suns/celts shaq

12 games

dwight
16.5/10.9 .548%

shaq
15.7/6.4 .629%

against yao ming - 9 games
12.2/9.8 .451%

dwight is offensively challenged. he has no go to moves. half of his points are results of his athleticism and being near the rim against inferior talents.

I took Spycam in this simply because the way the starting line-ups are laid out, Hotttnikkk's starting guards can't shoot and his starting frontcourt can't create space and is too slow.

But you've got to consider it in relation to this match-up, in which he'll be going up against Amare' Stoudemire.

In 16 Regular Seasons Games

Dwight: 18.5pts, 12.7reb, 1.8blocks

Stoudemire: 18.3pts, 7.5reb, 0.9blocks

As you can see, he scores just as much as the offensively talented Stoudemire but grabs 5+ more rebounds and 1 more block.

If you're gonna talk about just the starting guards then let's look at Spy's starting guards career shooting
(Hint: it ain't pretty)
:

Career 3pt Shooting Percentage

Isiah Thomas: 29% (Jason Kidd = 34.9%)

Clyde Drexler: 31.8% (Scottie Pippen 32.6%)

you can't use head to head between dwight to amare. amare had a brief prime. and offensively amare's prime was much better than dwight's. i think marc gasol should have more playing time than amare. dwight will provide good 15-18 min defensively as a backup, but i think offensively he won't be factor. in a 7 game championship series, none of these teams will use all 12 guys. 9 men at most. it ain't all star games.

Shaq isn't one of the greatest defenders ever by any means, but to say there's no one protecting the rim is just silly. He's 7th all time in blocks and has made all NBA defensive teams.

McHale made 6 all NBA defensive teams.

Gasol is a DPOY.

This isn't a composite score, you can only play two at a time. Who plays 5 bigs in their rotation and who is Gasol playing over and why? You are right about McHale, though, I totally didn't know he could stop a nosebleed. Racial bias is real.

Still, O'Neal had grievous defensive shortcomings and I don't have to say anything about Dirk and Amare.

Also, Reggie Miller should definitely start and Carmelo should definitely come off the bench.

Yeah thought long and hard about that - but at the end of the day I really needed Pippen's length and size to really shut down Drexler for good. Again I went with defense in a close match-up like this.

In a real game situation, if it's apparent that Reggie can contain Drexler I would probably just leave him in there in the starting lineup, move Pippen to SF and have Carmelo come off the bench and do his thing.

It is a 7 game series after all, lots of adjustments can be made as long as you have quality players.
