With or without gun control. do any of you believe the government can and will turn tyranical?
and if they do can the people stop it with or without guns.

poll put there

Any government can turn tyrannical, there's no reason for the US to be an exception. You pump enough fear into the people, and the laws go out the window. It's happened in the US before (WWI, WWII, 2002-2012, etc.).

I think any government can, but I don't think our government will.

If it did happen I don't think civilians could do much about it, with or without guns

Basically what I'm saying is that I'm not worried about my (usa) government turning into tyrants against me

2002 to 2012? Wow do you have a loose interpretation of tyranical.

IMO, the 2 wars in the middle east were cruel and oppressive. Bush and his admin are war criminals in my book.

I do not see that as tyrannical to me. That is how I took this thread. Tyrannical against its own people.

Also if Bush and his admin are war criminals then it should hold that the current pres and his admin are war criminals since they maintianed the same policies.

Democracy is firmly entrenched. Tyranny is a thing of the past.

It felt tyrannical to me personally from day 1.

The current admin has not engaged in 2 full on wars resulting in the death of 100,000's. Comparing the two is laughable.

Says "forget gun control"

Keeps talking about gun control

incase you are too stupid to know what i mean. is putting the gun control debate on the side for a seconds.

not debating the wether gun control is good or bad. or only this gun should be banned or that gun.

Why? The current administration has:

Continued the war in Afghanistan, and actually increased the troop levels at some points.

The only reason they withdrew from Iraq is because they were forced to as Iraq would not grant US soldiers immunity from Iraqi courts.

This administration has also increased the drone strikes that have killed civilians.

They have maintained things like NSA spying and the Patriot Act.

All the things that Bush is called a war criminal for Obama did the same thing. He may not have given the order to go in but he sure kept us there. That resulted in thousands and thousands of deaths.

Personally I do not think either President of their admins are war criminals. But if you hit one that way you have to hit both.

I totally and completely disagree with you and do not wish to continue the conversation, respectfully.

Ha. You Americans are way gullible my friend. You have not had honest election in decades. It is all controlled with use of Diebold. What you say does not matter they will do everything they want like invade Iraq when Americans and world says no. How you can make excuse for Bush murderings I do not know. He kills like 500,000 civilians this is blood on your hands.

If the US had a coup there would surely be many within the military and police force that didn't support it. In a situation where the military was split an armed public would make all the difference. We often overestimate the power of tech and advanced military equipment. Look at the troubles we had in Iraq or Vietnam. These countries are much smaller than the US. Do you think US citizens would be less capable of engaging in guerrilla warfare? I don't.

A fascist US government would have to have the support of the US people. Without that support there is no way they could force it on the population.

Less capable? No
Less willing? Yep

I also think that we would fight against ourselves so much that we would not be able to organize ourselves
