Disregard Kanter, Acquire Millsap

What will he cost?

Is he getting max?

What are we willing to pay?

What can we pay?

Millsap has connections with Snyder and supposedly really liked him.

Our fan base still shows Millsap major love.

It can happen.

3-way tandem of Sap,Favors, and Gobert.

Good god that is a versatile trio of big men. Throw in the final year of Booker too to provide some spot minutes and fill in for injuries.

High-Low from Millsap to Favors? Drooling.

Yup I agree. That Bill & Jalen podcast gave me this idea yesterday as well.

- Favors/Millsap/Gobert trio is a match made in heaven IMO.

- Millsap is the perfect stretch 4 in Quin's system.

- Shot 36% from 3's last year and is improving.

- Great work ethic

- Gobert will grab all the rebounds / blocks anyway.

Caveat: If we lucked out and get Karl Towns then goodbye Millsap.

Yeah, Sap will be a UFA too, so if he wants to sign here, it will be very easy for him if we can meet his price.

Yup, I've seen enough of Kanter to say he won't amount to much in the NBA. We let Kanter walk, extend Burks, use Kanter's money to sign Millsap.

QED.

Don't need to trade for him, Milsap only signed a 2 year deal with Hawks. He'll hit free agency next Summer.

I just meant both of them coming over together as FA's. Didn't DMC also sign a short-term deal?

The emergence of Gobert has perhaps changed the needs of the Jazz. They don't need another big whi can play the 5 - at least as part of their primary rotation: Favors and Rudy have that covered. That just might make someone like Millsap preferable over Kanter - unless Enes shows he has range. It likely comes down to price: is anyone else willing to pay an exorbitant amount for Kanter or can the Jazz keep him for $10M?

I'd take Millsap $12m per over $9 for Kanter anyway.

Millsap is definitely preferable over Kanter, but he will also cost more.

If Kanter doesn't prove himself this year, it would be awesome to get Sap, or draft a super athletic tweener type player (Can Chris Walker mature and prove himself this year?).

Sap > Karl Towns

Yeah the awesome thing is we get to audition Kanter for 1 more year this year under Quin. If Quin can't make it work with Kanter, I doubt he'll amount to much. Then we go back to Millsap and it's Game Over.

And the rebuild is pretty much over in terms of personnel acquisition. Already have our core-8, so maybe a roster move or two if one of those players can be upgraded (like a Millsap instead of Kanter and another top-10 pick). Then the challenge is keeping and developing that core.
