You are missing a pretty obvious conclusion: these individual stats are colored by noise from some other factor than individual defense. You’re sharing evidence that undermines your own whining about Keyonte.
This is actually a negligibly small coincidence, in the grand scheme of things. Much less probable things happen all the time. At a minimum, it’s far from a strong basis for calling people naive.

I don’t think you understand what summer league is. I certainly wouldn’t recommend making a special trip to Vegas expecting to see good basketball. It’s much more like a structured scouting event than what you’re describing.
Charlotte was also reported as a Ty Jerome suitor, so moving Sexton there probably removes/reduces competition if the Jazz have Jerome as a priority move.
This makes sense, and it’s encouraging bc it suggests AA is more focused on big picture considerations than transaction-specific details. This is a macro-economic view over micro.
