    Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I’m fine with that tbh. I’m not drafting him at 5, and I’m perfectly content to take one of Harper, Ace, Tre or VJ first and then get a guy like him via a trade up from other picks. And there’s plenty of other guys I like in that range (CMB, Demin, Essengue, Bryant, Traore, Fleming, etc.) that...

I’m big on taking home run swings on upside. . . so I can definitely get on board (but not at 5)

Lauri is just sitting there. . . being a curly haired perfect fit for them.

    2025 Interview and Workout Tracker

Jazz have a top 5 pick, a pick in the early 20’s, two 2nd round picks and are widely expected to be open to all sorts of trade scenarios. They should try to work out as many prospects as they can - regardless of how things go down. Be prepared for anything.

Carlisle is underrated. Really good coach.

Isn’t he one of the best athletes in the draft? Not really surprised he looks good in workouts. I’d be fine with him at 21 or later.

    Yes. . . and no. It’s complicated.

This is the way. Man, I wish the Jazz played defense like this.

Actually, if the Jazz do decide to tank one more year he’s a perfect fit. He can sit all next season recovering (for essentially the cost of expiring contracts) and then he either returns to form and they trade him, or he doesn’t and they let him walk as an expiring contract. I’m totally fine...

The 2nd apron making is so they can’t aggregate salaries is going to become a major trade issue for these high tax teams. When you have to sell guys in one off deals, it adds some complexity.

Jazz hire Celtics Assistant GM Austin Ainge as new President of Basketball Operations

Funny enough, the year to All-out tank - even if you got less than ideal value back -would’ve been 22/23 after blowing up the team, and then pivot to trying to win with whatever you ended up with in 23/24. Even without trying, they were basically a play-in team leading up to the deadline. Pay...

With that said, I think Danny has gotten great value with his “backend” picks so far. Relative to draft positioning, Sensabaugh, Collier and Filipowski all look like great picks right now.

    Big Picture Stuff

If the Pacers win it, Haliburton should be regarded as the superstar that runs the engine. But they have put a hell of a team around him.

I don’t know why. It’s a business after all. Every team should have a CEO type of official that answers only to the team owner.

There’s also no trigger date for it to become guaranteed, making it an extremely valuable trade asset. Jazz will almost certainly use his salary in a deal somewhere this offseason.
