Huge tanker advocate super tired of tanking myself.
I guess that's exactly what happens to everybody when a season or two are lost because lack or decision on tanking hard from the very beginning of the (re)building process.
RealGM says Pacers 2026 pick included with the Zubac package is 1-4 and 10-30 protected...
Mathurin + unprotected FRPs 29 and 31 would have been acceptable to me.... but we've got no way to know for sure.
WK is kind of complicated for me. He was evolving the right way at the time of his injury...
There's no way to know exactly what happened, but Jones is as good a source as you can get.
I'd have traded WK for this kind of package... specially if the intention is to keep our own 26 pick.
Being the Jazz, if you can grab the player you want without selling your soul, you go Nike.
I grade...
Just to add to it:
- let Collier/Brice run the show "to know what they actually can do at the 1"
- play Key off the ball "as we always intended to do in the first place"
- mix a lot of Flip at 5 "to make him learn how to use his body in the paint"
- play Cody at the 2 with Ace at the 3 "to work...
Looong thread... that's good
- I'm glad Jazz actually did something with its units
- JJJ is a very good basketball player; he's got flaws... if he wouldn't he'd be a superstar and there are not many of them around looking our way, aren't they?
- contract is a bit of a burden, but it goes with...
I really would have liked a 2-80. **** the league. They know the tanking but have done $hit to correct it. Nobody asked anyone when GS got Harrison Barnes or when SA went from the ring to the number 1 pick.
Ignore your hard to not ignore thing. He's got the tooools. Look what's going on with the other guy, you know, the other non NBA... that suddenly has many here thinking may be, just may be....
Brice, Walter, Flip got at least an NBA usable talent right now.
Isaiah, Cody, Taylor do not; their NBA value is not real at this point.
It's Brice and Flip if I'm forced to decide now.
I've got my doubts on Hardy; serious ones.
That said, I think I'm gonna wait to spell any harsh judgement until someone get him some decent D personnel.
Dude's playing games with Kevin and the Kyles at center, and Taylor/Cody certainly are not leading us to any good defensive stat.
I guess...
Everything suggests the tank is over and the pick's on its way out of town.
Jazz brass must be sold on Lauri, Key, Walker, Ace as the core and on some of the other guys as an affordable supporting cast and/or positive assets (Svi, Nurk, Walter, Brice...).
We've already seen George contributions on D at some important moments of games.
He's just a really young guard at 22 without a monster physical profile but with a will to work hard... he will be ok and he's going to have a very nice NBA career.
Mitchell led his team to postseason as a rookie being a national trend in the process.
Not fair to Key to use Don in the same conceptual breath methinks...
George is a good player and I think he's got what it's needed to contribute on D at clutch moments.
He's a good asset to have. We'll see...
