2015 NBA Playoffs

If you aren't impressed by Blatt, then you aren't paying attention. They're minus Irving, Love, Varejao. Throughout, he's had to steer them through the LeBron circus.

Then, there's the dramatic improvement they've made defensively since January... but especially since the playoffs started. Blatt doesn't get enough credit.

....is was a "wow" game alright....one of the worse if not THE worse played Finals game in NBA history! Cleveland shot 32% from the field....and WON the game! Lebron was 11-34, that's 30%.....and they think HE won the game? The two best players on the court with highest plus/minus ratings were Delly and the big Polish guy! The game was virtually UNWATCHABLE for long stretches of time! I've seen better shooting at YMCA games! Most living HOF guys were puking there guts out having to watch the putrid shot selection of both teams! The score ended up close....but the product was pathetically flawed to the 10th degree!

russian guy

the cavs are shorthanded, they're are just try to survive and win through adversity no matter what, also lebron is the their only starter from the beginning of the season while the warriors have their team for quite some time, so the warriors should be ashamed firstly for poor shooting

dude the way that team is coached is pure masterpiece, i'm just sorry for you that you can't see or feel it

They damn near gave away another game. Should be up 2 games. He gets credit for that, but I haven't been impressed with his late game decision making, especially the first overtime. He's been alright, but let's not exaggerate too much.

All Dellavadova did was wake up a sleeping giant.

....all Dellavadova did was completely shut down and stifle Curry to the point of total basketball frustration, and for all practical purposes, won this game single-handedly! Can he do it again? I had my doubts when this series started but he's starting to make a believer out of me! His ball denial defense and skills were the best I've seen in many moons! Just like JR Puke, Curry keeps launching all those off balance, wild heaves toward the basket...it's going to catch up to you! I suspect we will see more 5-25 from Curry than 15-25...with Dellavadova covering him!

What am I missing? I'm not a hater, but I haven't seen anything to warrant being so impressed. Maybe you're joking.
Enlighten me. What brilliant things have you heard him say or seen him do. I'm not doubting that there are things you can point to. I just want to know what they are. I have missed some of the games, including Game 1 of the finals, but I have yet to see or hear anything from Blatt that wows me me. No doubt the results have been good, but what specific coaching insights, motivations or adjustments have you seen that account for them?

It has been a very competitive and entertaining series so far. Hopefully all the games are like this.

You need more than results? Why? It isn't like anybody here has access to the locker room where the real work gets done. The dude has been a champion everywhere he's ever gone, and that isn't enough for you to give him a margin of confidence despite the fact that you're missing games? Emmk, braugh.

The Cavs swept a good Hawks team without Kevin Love (and all the advanced stats show how important he had become to the overall product on the floor). They've only lost 3 playoff games so far. In your mind, does Bron soak up all the credit for this?

As a jazz fan, I'd think you'd appreciate the type of coaching that gets guys ready for war. That was Sloan's best attribute. Obviously Blatt has that in him, too. And then his defensive adjustments, etc.

...my apologies! He's Russian. My bad! But in either case, he's a nightmare on Elm Street for the Warriors during this series with his size, brains and hustle! He's giving them fits on the offensive boards and wearing down the smaller Warrior guys inside! Had he hit more of his free throws last night, this game would not have even sniffed overtime!

Yes, I do need more than results to know if this success is the result of Blatt. With Sloan and Snyder and Popovich and Jackson I have heard and seen many moments that convinced me those coaches are brilliant basketball minds who are playing a central role in their teams success.

Please don't misunderstand, the reason I asked for the evidence is that another poster made a comment about how incredible Blatt's coaching was. I do not doubt that it's incredible. I simply want to know what he's seen that makes him feel that way.

...hopefully, we don't see a repeat of last nights poorly played game, with pathetic shooting and tossing the ball all over the place by both teams! Wide open shots are being missed on a regular basis, forced shots are also being missed while no offensive plays are being run, and the sad result is an unwatchable product that has basketball purist running to the bathroom to puke there guts out! When the winning team only shoots 32% for the game and the losing team has more turnovers than assists, well, let's just say I don't want to see a repeat of those performances!

Blatt still makes a lot of rookie mistakes. but like spoelstra he will only get better. i'm sure Blatt will stick around. but let's all stop anointing him yet. at the end of the day he has the best player in the league.

yup it's been awesome. ratings don't lie too.

i love the defense cavs bring. they are dirtying up the game slowing the game down. i love it. West has been too finesse except few teams. warriors are well oiled machine, but they are still finals virgins with bunch of young guys.

i'm sticking with warriors in 7, but my confidence is shaking. curry can't afford to have another bad games like this.

so you are not gonna watch it and stop commenting on the game? that's a win for the mankind.

Been impressed with Delladova, I like him. Seems quiet but hard. That attitude reminds me of Stockton.

No idea if it is actually acurate but after the parts I saw last night he just plays hard and leaves it at that. I don't see him chirping alot.

Do you remember if you watched this game and whether or not you had the same feelings?

or maybe this one?

I mean, look at those shooting percentages from Stockton and Hornacek!

Please advise, resident mouth breather.
