2017 Draft Thread

Did anyone hear the Josh Jackson/Boston story? Ainge, Stevens, and some other coaches all got on a plane to Sacramento from Bostn for a workout with Josh Jackson but he cancelled it while they all in the middle of the flight.
Smart move by Jackson.
1. Goes to a warm climate.
2. Gets playing time right away
3. Didn't have to worry about whether he'd be in Boston, traded to Chicago, Indiana, New York, etc.
4. Or maybe he stays and Boston STILL gets Hayward. Jackson is then a sub?

This is kind of like Ball only wanting to workout for LA. Jackson knew he'd piss off Ainge and the Celtics and then likely just drop 1 spot.

Found this quote. Apparently Phoenix was behind Jackson cancelling the workout.

The Phoenix Suns, who ended up drafting the former Kansas star, may have had something to do with it, but aren't saying what.

"You guys know my connection to the Boston Celtics and the respect I have for Danny Ainge, but you guys also know how competitive I am and it is a competition," Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said Friday without elaborating much more. "The process is what it is and we played by the rules, I guess. I'm just thrilled Josh Jackson is sitting next to me and is a member of the Phoenix Suns."

I hate Ainge, so I'm glad he got schooled. I don't know what it is about him, but every time I see his smug, pouty face, I just want to punch him in the mouth.

We'll know if he got schooled in about 3 years.

At least he's big. We could've done worse. I just wonder what's going to happen at our 4 spot? Is Favors going to come back healthy? If not, I can't see how he plays anything other than spot mins for Gobert. Which means that Bradley will be our 3rd center.

I was so awful in this thread.

Bradley ended up being our 4th center, behind Gobert, Favors, and Udoh.

I heard recently that the Jazz front office was ecstatic when they drafted Donovan and some in the front office were calling him "the next Dwayne Wade" during their celebration on draft night. They nailed the **** out of that comp.

It was interesting to read the confusion about Tony Bradley pick. Before the draft many posters had stated they didn't like his game as a fit on the jazz.

It has also been interesting to see how many Kuzma haters there were around here pre-draft. I’m glad for the guy. He got drafted in the first round and has WAY overplayed his draft position thus far.

I think the Knicks drafting the french guard is a mistake, Dennis Smith Jr was the sure thing in my opinion. Knicks fans acting like it's the perfect pick during the draft when in fact Smith jr was the correct pick.

I kinda nailed it didn't I? The Knicks should've drafted DS Jr. from the start. They thought they'd hit another homerun with drafting Frankie like they did with Porzingis. lol
