What's new

marvin on the trade block .

LOL they're just figuring out now he's overrated and nothing special? I'd want nothing to do with him. I want 2-3 cornerstone pieces (i.e., Deron) who play both ends of the court and have no major deficiencies. Then, I want role players (i.e., Matthews) to fill in the blanks. That's it.

No stop-gap players or overrated ballers who want a contract that's twice their worth.

You just said in another thread that you wanted T-Mac.

Yeah, as a multi-time all-star, TMac's got tons more upside than Marvin Williams, and at 2 years, 8M (the offer I suggested), he'd be cheaper than Williams. I'd rather take a cheap chance on him having a healthy second half of his career and becoming a stud again then waste long-term (more) money on some never-will.

So after all these years of tmac playing what is this upside you talking about?

lmao wow .
WIlliams > tmac
cj> then tmac.
fes > tmac
George bush > tmac
pile of dog crap > then Tmac
Tmac > john amaechi

I guess he did play a few games this year.

The only memory I ever want to retain of Marvin Williams is Hoffa throwing his *** to the ground at the RMR. I would much rather take the Beasley risk before Marvin Williams.

No thanks, that is just plain stupid, moron.

One of my favorite RMR memories. He did it like 3 or 4 times.

I'd like to take a chance on Marvin even tho hes a cockinthemouth

I guess I need to see what kind of money he makes before I would say yes or no. From the looks of things he is a pretty blah player. 10-5-1.... Is he a good defender? If he is a good defender then we definitely don't want him. We want liabilities on the floor at all times. Oh and he better cut the porn stash off too.

Thank you for the constructive criticism. Since you obviously love Marvin Williams, what impresses you most about him? His 10.1 ppg in 30+ minutes? Or his whopping 5.1 rebounds? Astounding for a 3/4. Perhaps his 45.5% field goal percentage? No, wait, wait, his 1.1 assists per game?

KK, Look at it from all the angles. For the 5th option on that Hawks team that is pretty good. You can't expect everyone to put up 22 10 man. He was playing SF and 5 rebounds isn't bad for 30 minutes when they also had Smith, Horford and Johnson who all rebounded well. If your expecting eye popping #'s you need to be looking at the superstars, but wait, they ARE NOT COMING HERE!

He would bring athleticism, versatility and defense- A guy that maybe could guard a Kobe, LeBron,Durant better than any of our current players right now. He also is still fairly young too.

I would take a chance on him for sure but would the ATL do it?

A tweener who is too small for pf and too slow for sf? Inconsistant 3p% and low rebounding. 4 years 30 million.

Make it happen KOC.

I read that post by Locke last night and really all I took away from it was: The Hawks are looking to trade Marvin Williams and he'd be a nice addition to the Jazz but they can't afford it so it probably won't happen. Solid stuff.

Thank you for making my point for me. He's the fifth option for a reason. He's not that freakin' good. And I don't want to be bogged down with 3-4 years (I forget which) at about 7.5M per for a tweener who' be exposed in any major game and who'd be a good 5th option at best. Our current 5th option, Matthews, will most likely get a couple M less per year, isn't a tweener, busts his butt and brings legit skills to the court. Not just athleticism with 30% from three as a small forward which would make AK look like Steve Kerr.

This is kind of off topic, but I don't think Matthews will be back. After seeing what Darko, Gooden, etc have gotten, some fool will miss out on big free agents and I bet Matthews gets pretty close to, if not the full mid-level exception. Utah would then let him go, because he is a nice player, but he is very replaceable.
