Bogdonavic kinda sucks

The Jazz Wonderbra

Well-Known Member
The guy makes game winners, is lethal from the 3 point line, stretches the floor, and sports his own thread complete with a turbin.

But he often displays poor IQ, he can't rebound worth a darn, he is soft on defense, he misses all sorts of layups trying to draw fouls that he rarely gets, and he does little more than score. Top that off with the fact that he is streaky.

Now that Conley has started to learn the offense, Bogdonavic is our weakest link in the starting lineup imho. Agree? Disagree?

If Bojan was our 3rd best offensive player, we would be contenders. However, Conley and Gobert's difficulties providing consistent scoring pushes Bojan into a more prominent role where he often struggles.

The guy can play, but he's not going to excel consistently in his current role.

He's been off. But even when he is off he is still above average in TS%. He sucks at passing so he either needs to attack to score or make a simple pass.

I actually think he misses layups because he goes straight for the hoop instead of trying to draw fouls. Our guys tend to actually play basketball and go through contact to score... instead they are supposed to flop to get calls because refs can't tell what is or isn't a foul unless a guy throws his head back, flails his arms, and screams. Watch Lowry from last night... he got at least three bull **** calls last night.

I just think we moved our best passer out of the starting lineup and the rest of the guys haven't fit well together. So they will individually have good and bad games but that they don't have enough good games as a unit.

DM is my guy.. but dude missed everything in and around the paint last night. Was a -30.

Last night the Raps "stars" murdered our "stars" and it wasn't close. You can point to Bojan, DM, Rudy and you'd be right. Sad thing was we only needed one of them to play well and we likely win, assuming Joe still has the same night he had. Joe, Royce, and TB all gave us really good games... Mike and Niang were solid... Bogey, Rudy, DM, JC all sucked.

This. It is pretty clear that Joe is our best play maker and moving him to the bench has significant weakened the starting group. Conley and DM do not play well off each other. Neither of them play well with gobert. Ingles does. The best solution is start Ingles and bring Conley off the bench. They can both still be part of the recently lethal bench combo we have, but swapping their roles will significantly improve the starting 5 imo.

I'm more worried about the starters getting going again... the bench bump has been awesome... I don't know how Joe plays with both units. It just feels like he's our only connector.

Yeah but Conley plays with both right now. Joe simply takes that role

He's a mismatch player. He does good against guys who are too small or too slow to guard him. When up against athletes though I think he struggles in the offense. Terrible passer, mediocre ball handler, awful defender

I agree, he is a one dimension role player. He isn't a starter, we overpaid.

I think he's a good player and I feel we got him on a good contract. However, his defense is lacking and I swear him and Clarkson have some of the worst tunnel vision. I can't count how many times they miss an open man.

Compare him to Khris Middleton at less salary and don't expect too much. He's a floor spacer and limited driver, not a shot creator, and he doesn't have much in-between game.

every single player on this team has been inconsistent...Bogey was our most dependable offensive player the first few months and now he’s not...every Jazz player has had good/bad streaks...I hold out hope (silly rabbit) that they all get it together heading into the playoffs...

To be fair, it is a Jazz signature move going back to the Harpring days to miss layups.

Pretty sure they teach this in practices so that players become accustomed to missing the most unmissable layups.

Khris Middleton is an allstar and more of a lethal scorer with more consistency. If we had Khris we would be a better team, just maybe not the winners of that Houston and Milwaukee buzzer beater victories lol

To me, it all comes down to Snyder’s game planning. When his number is called early on, he can get into a really nice flow. But more often he’s a second or third option from the gitgo and ends up being forced to be a catch and shoot 3 & D. He has a hard time getting rhythm and feeling the game that way.
You may not like him but other teams announcers rave about him.

The guy averages 20 ppg on 45/41/90 shooting splits. He's a really good player, but he does have a few flaws. He needs to spend the entire offseason working on his ball handling, passing and pick and roll reads.
