You left a whole bunch of decent choices off the list.

Mike D'antoni
Becky Hammon
Either Van Gundy (altho they might both be a bit old-school)
Joe Ingles
Kenny Atkinson
I would be intrigued by Ingles. Would be very interesting.

If we all love Ingles so much, why are we so eager to fire him twice? Watching the Jazz trade him right after watching him suffer a gruesome, likely career-ending injury was painful enough the first time, thanks.

Sure, he’s a great locker room guy, is obviously smart, and would certainly be a feel good hire by the Jazz, but I just don’t see that working at all. I’m absolutely positive if we pulled the stats on straight from playing to HC hires, the track record would not be kind.

Like all Jazz fans, I’d like a Hollywood ending with Joe, but it ain’t happening. The dude is at or extremely near the end of his playing days and he literally tells anybody who’s paying attention that as soon as his playing days are over, he’s on the first ONE WAY flight back to Australia.

All that’s left at this point is a Joe Ingles night at the Viv with free boomerangs for the first 5,000 fans as we watch #2 get hoisted into the rafters.

Those aren't on my list because I don't see it as likely, I could be wrong though. Thanks for the input

I voted for Alex Jensen only because the selection was so bad. (Why are we under selling our ability to attract a former Head Coach at the same time that we tend to over-value our trade chips?)

My short list:

1. Kenny Atkinson - loved his ability to think and adjust on the fly with his underdog Nets squad. And the fact that when the fat cats arrived they wanted a player’s coach is also a good sign. I dare say he’s only gotten better behind savants like Ty Lue and Steve Kerr.

2. Mike D’Antoni - proven winner at every level and you gotta love a guy that can tolerate playing second fiddle to Coach K. Also, something about pairing two Old Schooler’s in Ainge and D’Antoni just makes perfect sense.

News flash: Atkinson and D’Antoni are the two main front runners for the vacant Hornets post. We should be following Jordan’s lead!!!!

3. Brett Brown - People forget that before he was the “process” guy and forced to tank for six years with the Sixers, he won 4 championships as an assistant in the NBA and one as a head coach in the NBL. Anyway Pop’s guys are always a good bet!

Whoever the best coach is who is still likely to make Donovan request a trade now. (we don't need amazing coach to tank... in fact... it might be a plus to get a bad one)
