2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I would pick up Ulrich with the second rounder. Give him a year or two to develop. Same logic with Cody Williams, need time to develop play all the rookies so that the Jazz aren't winning next year.

Also Reed Sheppard and Castle would need time to develop too so I would be tempted to pick them too. No immediate impact guys unless it is an unbelievable value move.
Ulrich needs a lot of time. Teams don't want to develop a guy that raw unless all the tools are elite, which they arent

If the Jazz keep all three of their picks this year, I'd expect them to use one of them on a 2-way big. Ware and Chomche would be possibilities in the late 1st or early 2nd.

We need guys who can shoot. All of these non-shooters are getting exposed in the playoffs.

They aren't though....

Josh Hart is not getting exposed. Okoro is not getting exposed. Mobley is not getting exposed.

No one is really shooting it that well from 3 right now. The Knicks won while shooting worse from 3 than the Sixers.

Defense is winning currently is my takeaway

Okoro is a 39.1% shooter from three…

Watch how teams defend him. He is not considered a shooter. He's a lower volume Royce who teams still don't respect to that level. He was also sub 30% out of college.
He also has shot 5 total threes in 2 games so not exactly proving your point.

The Jazz made it a point to draft guys whom they thought could shoot last year. I'd assume that standard will apply this year as well. I think the Jazz are going to be intrigued by Knecht, Sheppard, Williams--guys who will move the ball and make shots when the opportunity arises. There probably isn't a bonafide star in this draft, but there could be a couple quality depth pieces.

I don't understand why you think he is super raw. He already has an NBA ready body and has an immediate use as a shot blocker and roll man. Offensively he shows potential as more than just a rim finisher though with a decent looking outside shot.

He also can handle and pass a bit. He's not a black hole.

The entire Orlando Magic team is getting exposed for being non-shooters.
I wouldn’t read too much into a team that decided to double and triple down on their weakness. There is a reason Cavs tanked the last game to get them. Cleveland also is a tough matchup for them with the double big double rim protector setup.

Ulrich hasn't played in a competitive environment. That is a huge risk, but he has signs of all the tools. Not one by itself is elite but put them all together he does have chance to be a high end player. You have to use your imagination in this draft and the youngest player developing significantly is not hard to imagine.

I doubt Sheppard is high on our board he doesn't provide enough differentiation from our current guards and provides too much size redundancy. Also reports last year was that the Jazz were high on Anthony Black.

You really think Danny Ainge watches Reed Sheppard film and doesn’t think about how that would be him in the modern game?

No Reed could help us, but there are options and players available that can give us positional size are guard multiple positions. I don't believe Angie is considering any player in the top 10 that can't guard multiple positions. Maybe if a true PG was available with positional size then maybe.

Then there's dozens and dozens of NBA ready big men who aren't in the NBA. Some of y'all are so delusional it's incredible. I bet you watched a thon maker mixtape and fell for it

I tried to find our full team history on coin flips and couldn't find anything. Ben Anderson has an article with our history since 2010 and we are 3-7. That is an 11% chance of that happening.
