General Olympic discussion thread.

I'll kick it off with the spinelessness of the IOC for allowing Russian athletes to compete and where is the discussion around banning Israeli athletes give the massacre that's going on in Gaza? Now I know that after Munich the banning of Israel would be a huge step but how can the world turn a blind eye to what's going on.

Outside of politics and my general hatred of the IOC as the most corrupt organisation on earth. What are you looking forward to?

For me its the men's and women's basketball, I'm not expecting a medal this Olympics, our men's team I think will be a bit underdone and our women's team lacks a pure scorer that can take a game by the throat.
 
sadly the Olympics are a joke I used to love it but now it's just whoever is the best at masking their juice taking. I generally now only enjoy watching the sports that are skill based not just the best physiology, so yeah the basketball, and such events where drugs can't help you like .. volleyball, diving, women's pole vault etc.


I'll actually be curious to watch the Enhanced Games next year

Yeah Im really looking forward to this years new event the break dancing... Imagine getting a ****ing gold medal in that and being proud of it.

Frisbee? **** off. what's next? competitive picnic? Its a ****ing scandal. Imagine winning in frisbee and you can claim to be an Olympic gold medalist like Usain Bolt....

I looked our Liz up, somebody is either very fond of photoshop or somebody has had an awful lot of work done down the panel beaters. In IT speak she has both bad hardware and bad software, its very hard these days to find a model with good hardware and good software down at the good guys...

I had one of the more awkward moments of my life today, I had to go give a semen sample. **** me that was an experience.

I wasn't expecting roses and scented candles but they ask you to shake hands with the unemployed in a glass room (frosted windows) next to the front door right next to the waiting room you were just sitting in. So you're in there trying to choke the chicken quietly while listening to people in the waiting room on their phone, people having a smoko break on the other side of the glass. And there you are hammering on your mince. ****ing awful experience, freaked me right out, it was one of those crappy temporary plastic walls away from having a **** on the tram.

One of my mates is into sailing, now I'm from one of the more disadvantaged areas of Melbourne the amount of crap this bloke used to cop for being a member of a yacht club was hilarious.

Archery is good fun. I enjoy the football, especially when we manage to qualify. Don't mind the weightlifting either. MMA would be a good inclusion as an Olympic sport

A kid from my HS (graduated years later) won a Gold medal a while back (2012 I think in some archery competition)…the next Olympics he won a silver. Had 49 bullseyes and missed on the 50th and last shot. Last name was Emmons.

Some kid is going to win a gold medal in break dancing and can call himself a gold medalist like that kid from your school....
