It's here guys, I opened up a discord for Jazzfanz. Mostly we will use this for our fantasy drafts and sim leagues, but anyone in the community is welcome to join. If you want to be a part of our discord server just PM me or @Thee Idiotic Minivan K and we will give you the invite link.
I would put it on here, but I don't want the risk of trolls/outsiders coming into our server and causing unwanted problems.

Yet another discussion forum of sorts. More like old school instant messaging. Fairly similar to whatsapp, in that you can create groups, invite and block people, etc. Used a lot in the gaming and streaming communities, including table top games like warhammer, D&D, and even the world of catan. Hell I am in a few chess discords from past chess clubs I belonged to.

One downside is it doesn't handle threads very well (uses # primarily), so it can be harder to get different conversations going on different subjects, usually it is better for straight open dialoging.

Is it it's own app or do you use chrome browser or something?

Discord was created by gamers who didn't want to keep using Skype or bad in game voice channels to play competitive games. Think of it as Skype but better. It's been around about 10 years which is about when these sort of communications platforms get bloated with ads and stuff since it was sold for lots of money and the buyers need to recoup that money. Kind of like Skype.
