What's new

Where's Locke?

He is kind of popular by default because Utah is a small market and there is little competition in his little niche. Like seemingly successful weird marsupials or a giant sloth.
I guess it depends on how you definite his niche. I would say he invented a niche when you factor in a podcast network.

I truly don’t understand this era where people just hate on ****. Like hating on Lebron or Caitlin Clarke or whatever. Just rampant hating on **** for no reason.

Why "hating"? Is there nothing besides loving and hating? I personally honestly tried to get into Locke and listened to several his podcasts. They were not exactly bad but just "meh". If he cut them twice in size, structured the flow well and tried to make his delivery more entertaining I would probably start listen.

In general, podcasters are usually people who cannot bother writing a good article. Because writing is hard and the lack of focus or rambling are very evident. Podcasts are simply more forgiving and it is much, much easier to make a so-so podcast. But making a really good podcast is also a skill and I listen to many good podcasters. Locke is simply not particularly good.

I listen to Locke from time to time when Youtube recommends him. He knows a lot of people within the organization so it's cool when he brings them on to talk or he cites conversations with them; it gives me an idea of how the organization values each rookie and clears up a lot of things as well.

Agreed.

He’s also really full of himself and too cringeworthy.

I dont’t have time for people like that.

Locke was on his yearly visit to Nate Duncan to discuss the Jazz` season a couple of days ago. I can`t listen to his own podcast anymore, but he is much, much better when he is not running the show.

Agree with this wholeheartedly.

He’s like an over-growned spoiled little brat on his own show. It’s like he’s King Kong or something.

Like he’ll do his cringey air drumming at the beginning of every show even though he knows we all hated it.

He’ll say we’re not tanking when we clearly were cos he owns the whole goddamn Locked on Network so he knows nobody could fire him.

It’s amazing how hungry for content people are nowadays that they still eat it all up.

Nice that your regular contributions to this thread are reminding me to listen to Locked on Jazz daily.
