I think thats a good question. Has to be one of those two, and the fact that I pause before I answer is already telling.Keyonte looks like he's leveled up. I saw a quote where he says the game is slowing down for him, and I believe it. He's still going to make young player mistakes and he'll still struggle against good defenses, but I think he'll have a great season.
His game last night gave me a question:
Who will be our second leading scorer this year?
Before the pre-season, it wasn't really a question as it was almost certainly going to be Sexton. Now, I think it could be Keyonte.
I think the answer is dependent completely on minutes. And because of that I think Keyonte will be the second leading scorer.Keyonte looks like he's leveled up. Time to bump this bad boy.
Key has not only looked really good in the preseason (if you forget about the complaining side of things)... but here are some small sample facts:
Is there a 2nd year leap coming? My money is firmly on: "Hell yes".
- He is 2nd in plus minus and 4th in net rating on the team, and the only starter ahead of him in those stats is Lauri. This is huge contrast to last year, when he was one of the worst guys in those categories.
- He has shot 51.4/44.0/87.5. Especially the 44% from 3 is promising, as he has done that on 6.3 attempts per game
- He has averaged 24.3 points per 36 minutes thus far without dominating in a negative way
- More of subjective opinion than a fact: I think he has played better defense than last year, apart from the moments when he complains and forgets to play completely
