Game Thread Dec 01, 2024 06:00PM MT: Los Angeles Lakers @ Utah Jazz

The great thing about this season is that when the Jazz pull out a gutsy win I am happy - because I like this group of guys and want them to succeed. And when they make a moronic mistake and collapse in the final seconds I am even happier! Every Jazz game is guaranteed to fill me with joy and deep satisfaction.

Next time when the Jazz are about to win in the final seconds on a fast break there will be a technical accident plunging the Delta Center in the sudden darkness.

That end of game play was wild. AD stopped playing and didnt challenge the shot so I wouldn't read too much into Sexton making the layup, but he had a mismatch when Hardy started to run down the court so if that wasnt a tank move it was definitely a major blunder.

Some of these comments are flat out bizarre. Sexton wasn't "robbed" of anything, he was dribbling around in circles without any idea what he was going to do when Hardy stepped on the court, called timeout and the Lakers obviously stopped playing. No wonder Collin was able to get to the basket with the defense standing around going "WTF you doing, bro?"

Sexton was terrible all game, and the fact that the Jazz are now "putting him on the trade block" (as if he hasn't been there all along) is hilarious.

Sexton had Rui on an island when Hardy rushed in. Thats about as good a matchup as the Jazz can get in that situation. Rui never stopped playing and he was soundly beat before he ever reacted to the whistle. AD probably had a chance to swat that shot and may have quit on the play, but acting like that was guaranteed to happen is just bias.

Hardy already admitted he made a mistake there. If you want to put anything on Sexton then it would have to be the fact that he quickly looked backwards before attacking (either towards Hardy or Collins, who was coming in trailing), which may have triggered Hardy to call the timeout.
