What's new

Paul Millsap retires after 16 years.

Millsap is one of the great Jazz success stories and he never got the credit he deserved when he was here.

I had no idea he wasn't already retired. Had I known he was still hunting for a gig, I would've advocated for giving him his last payday to be not good on the floor and to provide some leadership to a team of mostly <21 year olds.

I didn't realize he wasn't already retired.

Paul Milsap is one of my favorite Jazzmen of all time, starting with his career at La Tech playing against Utah State, I loved him then. He's also a great example of getting guys that know how to play basketball instead of focusing too much on physical attributes.

Milsap never got the recognition he deserved. I Remember that Game against Miami. Just a great game. He was one of my favorite Jazz players.
That Miami game was my first thought after seeing this post. That game will go down as my favorite moment post Stockton/ Malone years in jazz history. Amazing! Millsap is still the own jazz jersey I own.

Imagine if we could have kept Millsap and Hayward when we drafted Mitchell. Completely different story at that point. Starting lineup of Mitchell, [insert PG/combo guard - NO CONLEY], Hayward, Millsap, Gobert. Nice. Even with Rubio at PG that is still solid. Prime Ingles off the bench. We could have made some noise for real.

Loved Millsap, one of my fave Jazz players. We whiffed on that one for sure.
