A guy was ranting about fast food and then said that In and Out was fast. I disagreed. He seemed astounded. I told him that in my family we call it In and Wait.

With three people in the drive through I know I'm in for about 10min. And since they are so slow they always have like 20 people in the drive through. They are slow. There's no two ways about it.

Fresh made fries I guess.

I never eat there but I always hear about how fast they are too

They are kind of cheap. The thing is they make everything fresh and they have a window that lets you see into the kitchen from the drive-thru and there's a bunch of people in there and they're all moving quickly and with purpose and all that, so it gives the impression that they're fast but the actual amount of time you sit in the drive-thru is way longer than most fast food places.

I mean at McDonalds I've placed my order, driven to the pay window and they hang the card thing out the window on a stick and then as I'm driving to the pick up window they're hanging my bag out the window and I don't even need to stop. That takes like 45 seconds. If there are zero people in line at In & Out you're still there for like 5 minutes.

in and wait for mediocre food, at best. Even living in cali for the better part of a decade I never understood what the draw was for in and out. Their burgers are fine, I guess, fries disgusting unless you get them smothered in goop, then they are fine, I guess, and their shakes are fine, I guess. Yep a solid 6 out of 10.

But it is fun to say "hey wanna go eat in an in and out burger" 5 times fast.
