Here we go. Back to the dark ages. This is going to hurt the American worker as much as anything else they have done all put together. As someone who deals with constant regulation in the workplace I can tell you this will be highly detrimental to American workers.![]()
Federal budget cuts could impact Utah after-school, summer programs
Many South Salt Lake after-school and summer programs — and similar programs across the state and nation — could be in jeopardy because of recent federal cash freezes.www.ksl.com
But we aren't worried about this because it only affects poor people, right? I mean everyone in Utah voted to take care of the billionaires so no one will have any issues with anything that doesn't affect the wealthy right?
The pendulum swing on all of this is gonna be crazy. I’m ready to go!

Isn’t this what the working class slob wanted? It’s less than a year ago they chose this ****er to be president. Did they seriously not know Trump would do this? Did they listen to anything he and those like Stephen miller have said over the last decade? Maybe voters this stupid should just stay at home next time and let the actual informed adults decide who our leaders should be? Let these morons just stay at home so they can listen to more dudebro podcasts and watch more porn. Or spend more time with their chat GPT girlfriends.Getting more disgusting by the day.

Afghan translator who worked for US military detained by Ice in Connecticut
‘Zia S’ translated for US troops in Afghanistan before fleeing Taliban takeover in 2021 and arriving stateside legallywww.theguardian.com
An Afghan wartime translator granted a US immigration visa after risking his life to help US troops has been detained by masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents, in the latest sign that the Trump administration is willing to flout legal agreements and promises to allies in pursuit of its unprecedented immigration crackdown.
Identified only as Zia S, the 35-year-old husband and father of five who entered the US in October 2024 with a visa issued by American authorities was arrested and taken away in a van last week after a routine biometrics appointment for his green card in East Hartford, Connecticut, according to his attorney, members of Congress and human-rights advocates.
The former wartime interpreter fled Afghanistan with his family after the Taliban takeover in 2021. Zia legally entered the US in October 2024 through New York’s JFK airport with humanitarian parole – and an approved special immigrant visa (SIV). This visa is a pathway to permanent residency, or a green card, for certain foreign nationals who have worked for the US government or military in specific capacities, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“What happened to him is the worst kind of abhorrent violation of basic decency,” said the Democratic senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut on Tuesday. “He actually worked and risked his life in Afghanistan to uphold the values and rights that are central to democracy.”
Zia is the third known Afghan ally who helped US troops to have been seized by Ice since Trump returned to power, amid growing outrage at the administration’s actions.

Immigration Agents Laugh at U.S. Citizen as He Records His Own Arrest
Kenny Laynez-Ambrosio, 18, turned on his camera as immigration agents arrested him—after he told them he’s a U.S. citizen.newrepublic.com
Later, the officers can be heard claiming that more individuals have started to resist their arrests, anticipating even more extreme uses of force in future.
“We’re going to end up shooting some of them,” an agent said, referencing Laynez-Ambrosio’s attempts to assert his rights. “This kid goes like … ‘No, you can’t do that’; I’m not doing s***. We told you already to get out, you either get out or I’m going to pull you out.”

I consume a lot of content involving police interactions and lately I've been watching a lot of court cam videos. I grew up wanting to be a criminal defense attorney, so that's where my heart lies, and that's why I'm fascinated with this kind of content. A big part of the problem with this ICE **** is that they are avoiding due process... somehow.I wonder how common it is for some of the things I seen on YouTube to happen IRL? Even i know, from the other side of the world, the limits on US police in terms of searches, road stops and so on. All to often what I've seen is watching police go out of their way to skirt the law and reframe incidents to violate individuals rights. Its terrible police work, time wasted and any charges that stem from it should be easily knocked down by a decent lawyer. But its more than that, it comes across as mostly these cops don't like to be told by citizens no. Their hostility to the public are are supposed to serve is palpable. Now again, Im not sure how reflective these but apples are of the standard of US policing in general but some of the **** I've seen leaves you with very little confidence.

Just randomly I'm going to put a court cam video here. I like this channel, so if this is interesting this is a channel that doesn't waste a lot of your time.
This is a probable cause hearing that basically determines if there is a justified reason to hold this person or try them. The bar is low. If a felony a grand jury indictment is required, but for misdemeanors this is the process. This judge is a character and if I was facing a minor crime I would be thrilled if this were my judge. He holds the police and the DA to a higher standard than I think most do.
If the reason to stop you was not justified then anything they find after the stop is "fruit from the poisonous tree" and cannot be considered.I've seen this guys stuff he's pretty funny. I'm surprised that guy was left off with no PC, at the end of the day he did have a gun on him, I can get my head around civilians carrying firearms.

The main way around this is if the suspect consents to a search. A consent to search cures all. You cannot argue probable cause if you agree to be searched. If the reason to stop you was not justified then anything they find after the stop is "fruit from the poisonous tree" and cannot be considered.
