At no time did anyone here claim Trump personally helped put Project 2025 together. You simply rejected it altogether as anything of any significance whatsoever. In your view, it was stupid to even mention its existence. You actually complained that it was a subject of discussion at all. Now, you try to squirm out of your dismissal of Project 2025 by claiming you only were pointing out that Trump himself did not personally work on putting Project 2025 together. I rejected they way you were using it, and the way you use it still as a symbol. You use the invocation of Project 2025 to not address ideas. It is so lazy.
DEI is racism. DEI programs allocate based on the color of one's skin, and those doing the allocating are racist bigots because they have to be to allocate based on race. Racists spun up a narrative of DEI being good racism to counter the bad racism of the past, but it is nothing more than racism with a PR campaign. It is racism and it is gross. Stepping away from racism, good racism, bad racism, all racism is a worthy effort that has broad popular support and yes is in Project 2025.
The lazy way you have used Project 2025 you are now using to support racism, because weeding out racism is in Project 2025, and Project 2025 is bad therefor getting rid of racism is bad. The rub is that I don't think you are a racist person, but I do think you are prone to intellectual laziness. I introduced the subject of Project 2025. It was never my job to write a dissertation. I left plenty of links for people to do their own research. I can’t read for people; they have to do that themselves….

With American democracy already at a crisis point, extreme right-wing operatives have crafted an authoritarian playbook that would push it over the edge, destroying the nation’s 250-year-old bedrock system of checks and balances to create an imperial presidency. The Project 2025 Mandate for Leadership is a 920-page road map for a future president to wield excessive power to implement a dangerous policy agenda, ripping out democracy by its roots and replacing it with a system that most Americans would find unthinkable.1For many decades, there have been efforts to advance radical proposals to weaken America’s middle class, stripping them of fundamental freedoms and subverting the rule of law, most notably by capturing the U.S. Supreme Court. But the Project 2025 blueprint makes those prior efforts look quaint. Project 2025 unabashedly promotes the wholesale violation of norms and laws, consolidating enormous power in a president and trampling on Congress’ constitutional role—to take away Americans’ long-cherished freedoms and opportunities. Not only would this authoritarian playbook make it easier for a far-right executive branch to weaken the independence of public agencies, install political cronies throughout the government, punish people it disagrees with, and control what news the media can report, but it would also allow the government to eliminate abortion access, health care choices, overtime pay, educational opportunities, and countless other programs that benefit communities and families.
Quite simply, if Project 2025 is implemented, the United States would be unrecognizable. Instead, it would resemble autocracies around the world, such as Hungary and Turkey, which in recent years have severely weakened their democracies and vested inordinate power in authoritarian leaders who serve the interests of themselves, not the public. Once this backsliding occurs, it is incredibly difficult to fix. Make no mistake: This could easily happen in the United States without a firm system of checks and balances. Ominously, the Heritage Foundation, which created Project 2025, and its president declared in July 2024 that they are in the process of the “second American Revolution” and suggested that political violence may be necessary to effectuate their authoritarian blueprint if Americans resist.2
This report first discusses the background and draconian goals of Project 2025. It then explains how the plan’s extreme ideas could come to fruition, exploring seven critical guardrails that Project 2025 would demolish, including weaponizing the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) against political opponents and everyday Americans; politicizing independent agencies and executive branch departments; and replacing tens of thousands of nonpartisan civil servants with loyalists to do the president’s bidding. I'm glad you have a bit of self-awareness and that we could find agreement.
The rest is mostly nonsense and will be exposed as such in the next 18 months when there is an election, then again 24 months after that when there is a presidential election. We aren't becoming an authoritarian country and nothing is happening to democracy.
As for the supposedly lost freedoms, nothing is being lost and that was actually the answer to what had been left out of your earlier fear over looming revolution. 1970 was the period in which Giswold v. Connecticut (1965), Eisenstadt v. Baird (1972), and Roe v. Wade (1973) were decided. Those decisions destroyed the American family and millions of women who used to raise children instead flooded into the labor market which dropped the value of labor causing real wages to decline for a long period. Without knowing it, you held high the economic case against a woman's right to kill her children and bought into the claims that it would lead to revolution.
While I do think allowing women to kill their children is bad, I don't think it will lead to revolution. It did lower real wages for a long time but eventually a new equilibrium was reached and wages started to rise again. The claim of real wages being stagnant is a case of cherry-picking end points and ignoring the crater between the end points showing us now on an upward trajectory. I do find it funny that you fell for it.

A reminder, in case anyone actually believed Trump at the time. He didn’t create Project 2025, but he knew he would be implementing it on day one. Oh, as an aside, he is here declaring war on the Democratic party. He does prefer a single party dictatorship; it’s part of the game plan.

Project 2025 is also built upon a foundation of Christian nationalism. Christian nationalism is not a branch of Christianity. It has always been a diseased political movement disguising itself as faith. It’s not faith . It’s a movement built on hatred of others. Christianity is not dead. The golden rule is the golden rule still. But Christian nationalism is where the ethical foundation of the Christian faith went to die. Christian nationalism is profoundly anti-Christian. It represents deep, deep hatred of the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
And Christian nationalism insists the United States must reflect this diseased version of the Christian faith. The United States must make Christian nationalism the unofficial “state religion”. Can they get anymore anti-American?

President Donald Trump is openly embracing the conservative blueprint he desperately tried to distance himself from during the 2024 campaign, as one of its architects works to use the government shutdown to accelerate his goals of slashing the size of the federal workforce and punishing Democratic states.
In a post on his Truth Social site Thursday morning, Trump announced he would be meeting with his budget chief, “Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.”
The comments represented a dramatic about-face for Trump, who spent much of last year denouncing Project 2025, The Heritage Foundation's massive proposed overhaul of the federal government, which was drafted by many of his longtime allies and current and former administration officials.
Both of Trump's Democratic rivals, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, made the far-right wish list a centerpiece of their campaigns, and a giant replica of the book featured prominently onstage at the Democratic National Convention.
“Donald Trump and his stooges lied through their teeth about Project 2025, and now he’s running the country straight into it,” said Ammar Moussa, a former spokesperson for both campaigns. “There’s no comfort in being right — just anger that we’re stuck with the consequences of his lies.”
Shalanda Young, director of the Office of Management and Budget under Biden, said the administration had clearly been following the project's blueprint all along.
“I guess Democrats were right, but that doesn’t make me feel better,” she said. “I'm angry that this is happening after being told that this document was not going to be the centerpiece of this administration.”
Asked about Trump’s reversal, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said, “Democrats are desperate to talk about anything aside from their decision to hurt the American people by shutting down the government.”……
……..Trump repeatedly insisted he knew nothing about the group or who was behind it, despite his close ties with many of its authors. They included John McEntee, his former director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, and Paul Dans, former chief of staff at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
“I know nothing about Project 2025,” Trump insisted in July 2024. “I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”
Trump’s campaign chiefs were equally critical.
“President Trump’s campaign has been very clear for over a year that Project 2025 had nothing to do with the campaign, did not speak for the campaign, and should not be associated with the campaign or the President in any way,” wrote Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita in a campaign memo. They added, “Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed and should serve as notice to anyone or any group trying to misrepresent their influence with President Trump and his campaign — it will not end well for you.”
Trump has since gone on to stock his second administration with its authors, including Vought, “border czar” Tom Homan, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, immigration hard-liner Stephen Miller and Brendan Carr, who wrote Project 2025’s chapter on the Federal Communications Commission and now chairs the panel.

That’s why Russ Vought is director of the Office of Management and Budget, OMB, the largest office in the Executive branch, with the responsibility of enacting Trump’s agenda across the Executive branch.
And Russ Vought was one of the chief architect’s of Project 2025.
Russ Vought is the face of the Trump shutdown. Speaker Mike Johnson said Vought does not enjoy the task ahead of deciding which agencies to slash, who’s going to lose their jobs, etc.
But, Sen. Mike Lee said Vought “has been waiting for this moment since puberty”!
Really? Waiting to deconstruct the administrative state since he was a child? Lol. And here we were told Trump knew nothing about Project 2025. It’s no joke.
This is the face of Project 2025.
This is the face of the Shutdown, and all the damage Trump plans to inflict will be this guy’s job to implement.

When we told trumpers that trump was all about project 2025 they were like "no he isn't, you guys are being hyperbolic"

If we would have said that trump would hang pictures of himself off buildings and send the military into American cities they would have said "no he won't, you are exaggerating"
Yet:
We tell them that he is trying to be a dictator and doing Hitler things and suppressing free speech and disappearing people and going after any opposition and trumpers say "no he isn't, you are worrying about nothing"...... This is currently happening and stay tuned for it to get much worse.

I respect them. I really appreciate the great job they’re doing,” he said at the time. The following day, caving after weeks of punishing cable-news coverage, he signed legislation to reopen the government, lauding furloughed employees as “incredible patriots,” pledging to quickly restore their back pay, and calling the moment “an opportunity for all parties to work together for the benefit of our whole beautiful, wonderful nation.”
Doesn’t really sound like the same guy, does it? This time, it took Trump fewer than 24 hours to turn a shutdown into a weapon wielded against the civil servants he once praised and the opposing party he has long derided. The administration has targeted Democratic districts, announcing holds on more than $25 billion in projects in Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oregon, and elsewhere, with more cuts believed to be on the way. Trump has threatened to fire government workers en masse, casting the lapse in funding that led to their furloughs as an “opportunity” to further decimate their ranks and gut agencies he doesn’t like. Officials have defied ethics guidelines, with blatantly partisan out-of-office messaging and banners blaming Democrats for the shutdown splashed across government websites.
This is what happens when a partial closure of the government meets the president’s second-term campaign to expand his powers and punish his enemies. The dynamic has created widespread uncertainty, as some Republicans blanch at the brazen norm-busting and some Democrats begin to reconsider how much pain they’re willing to bear in what they hoped would be a fight over health-care subsidies.
