Mo was 1-10 shooting but still grabbed double figures in rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Tonje and two other Stars had 14 points including Oscar who had 17 boards.
 
I noticed that former Jazz great Vernon Carey Jr. made an appearance with the Rocket GLeaguers today and looked decent. It would be interesting to know the story and reason why Ainge cut him between the Utah Summer League and the Vegas Summer League. I bet the details are juicy.

He's just a tweener in today's NBA. He's not long enough to guard the rim and not skilled enough with the ball to play on the perimeter. He was a beast in college though.
 
Mo Bamba interviewed after leading the Stars to the Showcase finals today with 17 points, 18 rebounds, three for three from the line (Nurkic FT% is like 65) one block. Had a notable alley oop down the stretch to seal it. We’ve got a guy like that with a 7’10” wingspan and broad muscular shoulders with hops and we’re playing two guys that can barely get off the ground and prolly couldn’t even oop with a mini trampoline. We’ve got zero interior defense and zero rim protection and because of it Bane was able to take the handoff and make the go ahead layup with ease. And that’s to say nothing of the absence of a rim runner for a last second in-bounds play. Nobody tell me we’re not tanking this year!

Tomorrow is for the championship at 4:30 Mountain Time. The opponent is the Raptors GLeaguers and they are undefeated but eeked out a two point squeaker today.
